Why can’t every yacht enter every marina?

Answer

Marinas have physical and operational limitations. These can include maximum yacht length, beam, draft, air draft, berth availability, water depth, turning space and local operating restrictions.

A yacht may therefore be perfectly suitable for a destination overall but unable to berth in a particular marina.

Analysis

Marina access is a useful example of why yacht selection should be based on the intended itinerary rather than yacht specifications alone.

Broker’s advice

If a particular marina is important to you, we’ll check the yacht against the marina rather than making assumptions from the yacht’s advertised length.
