What happens during a yacht safety briefing?

Answer

The captain or crew will provide an appropriate safety briefing when you board. It will generally explain important emergency procedures, safety equipment, escape routes and relevant operating procedures for the yacht.

The briefing may also cover practical matters such as life jackets, fire safety, tender procedures and what guests should do in an emergency.

The precise content depends on the yacht, its size, equipment and applicable regulations.

Analysis

A safety briefing is not intended to alarm guests. It is simply a practical orientation so everyone knows what to do if something unexpected happens.
