What does a typical day on a yacht charter look like?

Answer

There is no standard yacht-charter day. One of the principal advantages of a private charter is that the day can be shaped around the guests.

A typical day might include breakfast onboard, cruising to a new anchorage, swimming, water sports, lunch, relaxing on deck, going ashore, returning for cocktails and dinner, and spending the evening onboard or at a restaurant.

The balance between activity and relaxation is entirely personal.

Analysis

Guests sometimes assume that a charter follows a fixed itinerary similar to a cruise. In reality, the rhythm can be highly flexible.

The yacht, crew, destination and guest preferences all influence the experience.

Broker’s advice

Don’t feel that you need to fill every hour. Some of the best charter days are simply breakfast, a swim, lunch, a beautiful anchorage and dinner onboard.
