Can I use a jet ski or other powered water toy during a charter?

Answer

Potentially, but powered water toys such as jet skis are subject to additional requirements in many destinations.

The yacht must be permitted or equipped to carry and operate the relevant equipment, and local regulations may require licences, permits, minimum ages or qualified operators.

The crew will explain what is permitted in the cruising area.

Analysis

A jet ski appearing on a yacht’s equipment list does not automatically mean every guest can use it whenever they wish.

Rules can differ substantially between countries and even between individual ports or protected areas.

Broker’s advice

If a jet ski is important to your holiday, we’ll check the practical rules for the destination rather than simply confirming that the yacht carries one.
