Our Story

CharterWorld began when co-founders Reia Stannard and Matt Somerville-Smith met while crewing luxury superyachts in the Mediterranean. Reia, raised by the Whitsundays, and Matt, from Marlborough, both found home at sea. Their journey—from stewardess and first mate to founders—was fuelled by passion and purpose.

Combining Matt’s business and tech acumen with Reia’s luxury travel expertise, they created the world’s first online yacht charter platform. Today, CharterWorld is a global team of brokers, marketing professionals, and support staff devoted to creating unforgettable experiences on the water.
