What additional costs are there when chartering a yacht?

Answer

In addition to the base charter fee, a yacht charter may involve expenses such as fuel, food and beverages, marina and port fees, communications, special requests, transfers and other operating expenses. These are often funded through the APA.

Depending on the destination and charter contract, there may also be taxes, delivery or redelivery fees, cruising permits or other destination-specific charges.

Analysis

The total cost depends heavily on how the yacht is used. Two charters on the same yacht can have quite different final costs if their itineraries, fuel consumption, marina use and provisioning requirements differ.

Broker comment

A good charter proposal should make the cost structure understandable before you commit. We can identify which expenses are included, which are estimated and which are payable separately.
