Does my yacht charter include fuel?

Answer

Fuel is not automatically included in every yacht charter rate. Depending on the charter agreement and yacht, fuel may be treated as an additional operating expense and charged through the APA or settled according to the terms of the contract.

Analysis

Fuel costs depend on how much the yacht cruises, its engines and generators, cruising speed, fuel consumption and local fuel prices. A high-speed motor yacht travelling extensively can have substantially different fuel costs from a sailing yacht following a relaxed itinerary.

Broker comment

The important question is not simply "is fuel included?" but "how is fuel accounted for under this particular charter agreement?
