Can I bring my own alcohol and food onto a charter yacht?

Answer

This depends on the yacht, destination, charter arrangements and local regulations.

In most cases, provisioning is organised in advance so that the yacht has the food and beverages requested by the guests when they arrive.

The crew can normally purchase preferred brands, wines, spirits and other products where they are legally available.

There may be restrictions concerning bringing alcohol or food across borders or onto a yacht in certain destinations. Customs and local regulations may also apply.

The simplest approach is to tell your broker and crew exactly what you want. They can advise whether it should be purchased as part of provisioning or whether there are restrictions on bringing it onboard yourself. Broker perspective

The objective is not simply to stock the yacht. It is to make sure the yacht has the right food, drinks and supplies for the guests before the charter begins.
