What does a yacht charter broker actually do?

Answer

A charter broker helps clients identify suitable yachts, compare options, establish availability, negotiate and administer the charter agreement, coordinate with the yacht’s representatives and assist with itinerary and pre-charter planning.

The broker can also help interpret yacht specifications, crew information, costs, contractual terms and practical considerations.

During the planning process, the broker acts as an intermediary between the client and the yacht’s representative.

Analysis

The broker’s role is broader than finding a yacht. Much of the value lies in reducing uncertainty between the initial search and the actual charter.

The quality of brokerage can therefore depend on research, communication, destination knowledge and attention to detail.

Broker’s advice

Our job isn’t to sell you the yacht we happen to have in front of us. It’s to understand what you’re trying to achieve and then search the market for the most appropriate available options.
