Can I fish during a yacht charter?

Answer

Fishing may be possible, but requirements vary considerably by destination, yacht and type of fishing.

Local licences, protected areas, seasonal restrictions and equipment requirements can apply. Some yachts carry fishing equipment, while others can arrange equipment or local guides.

If fishing is important, it should be discussed before the yacht and itinerary are selected.

Analysis

Fishing is highly destination-specific. Recreational fishing rules can change according to species, season and location.

A local fishing guide may provide a much better experience than relying solely on equipment carried onboard.

Broker’s advice

Tell us whether you’re interested in casual fishing with the children or serious sport fishing. Those are very different requirements and can lead us toward completely different yachts and destinations.
