Is a three-night yacht charter worth doing?

Answer

A three-night yacht charter can be worthwhile, particularly when the yacht is being used as part of a longer holiday or when the charter is focused on a compact cruising area. However, the effective cost per night can be considerably higher than for a conventional week-long charter because some costs are relatively fixed.

Analysis

The value of a short charter depends heavily on what you want from it. Three nights can provide an excellent introduction to yachting, but it is unlikely to deliver the same sense of exploration as a full week.

Broker comment

For a first-time charterer, I would usually concentrate on making the three nights exceptionally good rather than trying to cover too much ground.
