Can I change the dates of my yacht charter after booking?

Answer

A change of charter dates is generally subject to agreement between the relevant parties and the terms of the charter contract.

It should not be assumed that a booking can simply be moved to different dates without financial or contractual consequences. Availability of the yacht, proximity to the charter date, owner approval and the applicable contract terms can all be relevant.

A request to change dates should therefore be raised as early as possible.

Analysis

Changing dates is different from cancelling and rebooking. The practical outcome depends on the yacht's availability and the contractual arrangements.

Where a change is possible, other factors such as seasonal pricing, destination taxes and associated bookings may also need to be reconsidered.

Broker Comment

If you think your dates may change, tell us as early as possible. The earlier we know, the more options we have to work with the yacht owner and protect the value of the booking.
