Who decides the yacht’s itinerary during the charter?

Answer

The itinerary is normally developed collaboratively around the charterer’s preferences, with the captain responsible for assessing what is practical and safe.

Guests can express the places they want to visit, activities they want to enjoy and the pace they prefer. The captain will consider weather, sea conditions, distances, yacht capabilities, local regulations and other operational factors.

The final itinerary may therefore change during the charter.

Broker’s advice

Tell us what you want to see and how you want the week to feel. The captain can then turn those preferences into a practical itinerary rather than treating your holiday as a rigid timetable.
