What happens if I need to stay connected during the yacht charter?

Answer

The crew can normally explain the yacht's available communications systems and how guests can use them.

Depending on the yacht and location, connectivity may combine cellular networks, onboard Wi-Fi and satellite communications. Guests should understand that offshore connectivity can be less consistent than a land-based broadband connection.

If continuous communication is important, the yacht and itinerary should be selected with that requirement in mind.

Analysis

Connectivity should be treated as part of the charter planning process when it is important to the guests. A yacht that is ideal for an entirely disconnected holiday may not be suitable for a guest who has business-critical communication requirements.

Conversely, guests who want to disconnect may prefer to select a cruising area where connectivity is naturally limited.

Broker Comment

Tell us whether you want *maximum connectivity* or *a chance to escape from it*. Both are legitimate charter objectives, and the yacht and itinerary can be planned accordingly.
