Is alcohol included in the yacht charter price?

Answer

Alcohol is not necessarily included in the base charter rate. Depending on the charter agreement, food and beverages may be purchased as part of the charter expenses, often through the yacht’s agreed expense allowance.

The precise treatment varies by yacht and contract.

The preference sheet is normally used to establish what guests would like the crew to provision.

Analysis

The important distinction is between the base charter fee and expenses incurred during the charter. High-end wines, specialist spirits and unusually large quantities can materially affect the overall cost.

Broker’s advice

Tell us what you normally drink. That allows the crew to provision appropriately and gives you a much more realistic picture of expected expenses before you board.
