What does the weekly charter price actually include?

Answer

The advertised weekly charter rate generally covers the use of the yacht and its crew for the agreed charter period, but it does not necessarily cover every expense incurred during the charter.

Depending on the yacht, destination and charter agreement, additional costs can include food and beverages, fuel, marina fees, cruising expenses, taxes, delivery or relocation fees and other agreed expenses.

The precise structure depends on the yacht and the applicable charter contract, so the headline weekly rate should not be treated as the complete cost of the holiday.

Options / distinctions

VAT or other applicable taxes –

Fuel –

Food and beverages –

Marina and port fees –

Delivery/redelivery fees –

Cruising permits or local charges –

Special requests and activities –

Crew gratuity

Analysis

Comparing yachts solely on their advertised weekly rates can be misleading because the contractual cost structure may differ. Two yachts with similar base rates can produce different final costs depending on destination, cruising requirements and guest preferences.

Broker Comment

We always recommend comparing the likely total charter cost, not just the advertised yacht rate. We can explain the contract structure and identify the expenses that are likely to matter for your particular itinerary.
