How many guests can a yacht charter accommodate?

Answer

The number of guests a yacht can accommodate on a charter is determined by its commercial certification and permitted guest capacity, not simply by the number of beds or cabins visible on the yacht.

For example, a yacht may have several cabins but be commercially certified for a particular maximum number of charter guests.

The practical capacity also depends on the configuration of the cabins. A yacht may technically accommodate a certain number of guests but be much better suited to a smaller group if guests require: –

Private ensuite cabins –

Multiple family cabins –

Separate children's accommodation –

Particular bed configurations –

Accessibility considerations –

Greater privacy

Your broker should therefore establish both the legal/commercial guest capacity and the accommodation configuration before recommending a yacht. Broker perspective

The question is not simply "How many people can sleep on the yacht?

It is:

How many people can legally charter the yacht, and how comfortably does the yacht accommodate our particular group?
