What should I expect on my first day on a yacht charter?

Answer

Your first day will depend on the yacht, destination and agreed embarkation arrangements, but it normally involves meeting the crew, settling into your cabins, familiarising yourself with the yacht and beginning the charter itinerary.

You may also receive a safety briefing and information about the yacht's facilities and water toys.

Depending on the itinerary, the yacht may then:

Remain in port –

Move to an anchorage –

Cruise to the first destination –

Begin with lunch onboard –

Start with swimming or water activities –

Depart later in the day

The crew will generally take care of luggage, cabins, provisioning and operational details. Broker perspective

The first day does not need to be rushed. A good charter plan considers arrival times, transfers, provisioning and guest preferences so that the transition from travel to holiday feels seamless.
