When does the yacht actually leave the port?

Answer

Departure timing depends on the charter agreement, embarkation port, captain’s operational considerations and the planned itinerary.

Some charters depart shortly after guests arrive, while others begin with time in port before cruising to the first destination.

The captain is responsible for determining when it is safe and operationally appropriate for the yacht to depart.

Analysis

A charter’s start time and the moment the yacht gets underway are not necessarily identical.

Weather, port restrictions, fuel, provisioning, immigration formalities and other operational factors can affect departure.
