What happens when I first arrive at the yacht?

Answer

The exact process varies according to the yacht, port and embarkation arrangements, but guests will normally be welcomed by the crew and shown onboard.

The crew will help with luggage, introduce guests to the yacht and explain important practical information. A safety briefing will normally take place before or around the beginning of the charter.

The captain will also establish the planned departure and itinerary arrangements.

Analysis

The first hour onboard is generally about getting comfortable and understanding how the yacht works. Guests do not need to know yacht terminology in advance—the crew will explain what matters.

Broker’s advice

Don’t worry about knowing what to do when you arrive. The crew will take you through everything. If there are special arrival requirements, we’ll explain them before you travel.
