Boat International Media are proud to present the 2015 ShowBoats Design Awards Finalists, who now stand in contention to receive a coveted Golden Neptune trophy. The awards ceremony will be once again hosted by the Tyrolean Alps during the Superyacht Design Symposium, on February 23, 2015.
Golden Neptune Trophy for ShowBoats Design Awards Winners
ShowBoats International and Boat International’s editorial teams have refined an impressive list of nominees to an exceptional shortlist, from which the winners will be chosen by an independent panel of expert judges.
Now in its sixth edition, the ShowBoats Design Awards will honour the innovators and creative minds behind the most exceptional superyacht designs of 2014. Focused entirely on the design aspects of superyacht production, the Awards will recognize creative excellence across a range of categories including Interior Design, Exterior Design & Styling, Naval Architecture, Holistic Design and Tender Design. The Young Designer of the Year Award, sponsored by Oceanco, will also be presented at this prestigious prize giving.
Finalists include 81.8m motor yacht Kibo which was delivered to her owner in June 2014. The yacht, built by Abeking & Rasmussen with interior and exterior by Terence Disdale Design was the ‘cover star’ of Boat International’s October relaunch issue.
Mega yacht Grace E, a 73m motor yacht built by Picchiotti (Perini Navi Group) featuring exterior design by Philippe Briand and interior design by Rémi Tessier, was debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show to critical acclaim, and takes a finalist spot in both interior and exterior design categories.
Heesen’s 40m motor yacht Galatea was one of twelve yachts shortlisted in the interior design class for motor yachts below 500GT, and Royal Huisman’s sailing yacht Wisp (47.65m) is a strong contender across the sailing yacht categories.
This year’s prize giving ceremony will take place on Day One of the Superyacht Design Symposium, after which all guests of the event will come together for an evening of celebration.
The addition of the Awards to the Superyacht Design Symposium programme enhances an already inspiring three-day agenda of discussion, networking opportunities including the Blohm + Voss Ski Cup in this idyllic wintery destination. Interactive, thought-provoking presentation and discussion will be led by expert speakers including icons of design such as Terence Disdale, Andrew Winch and Piero Lissoni to name a few.
An impressive list of attendees have already confirmed their attendance at the 2015 Symposium. The organizers expect a sell-out event in 2015 and encourage delegates to purchase their tickets for the Superyacht Design Symposium without delay to avoid disappointment.
