As one of the most prestigious luxury yachting events of the year at the heart of the Mediterranean charter grounds, the Monaco Yacht Show is the perfect place for shipyards to debut their newly launched superyachts and showcase the fine attention to detail from expert craftsmen and skilled engineers.

At this year’s event there are 12 new motor yachts of 40 metres (131 feet) making their first-time public appearances; listed from longest to shortest they are:

VOLPINI 2 – AMELS – 57.7M/189FT

The first hull in the Amels 188 range, superyacht VOLPINI 2 will be available to view by appointment at the Monaco Yacht Show this year. She is also the first yacht in the Limited Editions range to have Amels Hybrid Power installed, and the first Tier III-compliant new build anywhere in the world.

Raised ceilings across the decks increase the sense of space on board, and when guests want to savour outdoor living they have a choice of alfresco lounges and a spacious sundeck laid out with sun loungers and a Jacuzzi.

POWER PLAY – DAMEN – 55.5M/180FT

Superyacht owners are travelling farther than ever before and Damen Yachts has been at the forefront of giving adventurous spirits exactly what they desire. Luxury support vessel POWER PLAY accommodates only six guests over three cabins, leaving the rest of her space dedicated to on board facilities such as the dive centre, water toys and massive observation lounge. With a range of 5,000 nautical miles, M/Y POWER PLAY will take generations on unforgettable journeys to the remotest regions of the Earth.

EL LEON – OVERMARINE GROUP – 54M/177FT

Connecting guests with the surroundings has become increasingly important over the past decade and to this end EL LEON is designed with a generous beach club with a massive transom door folding out to extend the space along the port and starboard bulwark terraces. Full-height windows in the ice white and gold-tinted salons bring the outside ambiance in day or night for 12 lucky guests accommodated over five sumptuous cabins.

IRISHA – HEESEN – 51M/167FT

Luxury yacht IRISHA is fast-paced on the exterior (capable of a top speed of 25 knots) and wonderfully calm within, using neutral tones, naturally cut wood and precious stones for eye-catching and elegant living areas. Her extensive outdoor areas make her an excellent choice for charters in the Mediterranean and she accommodates up to 10 guests across five spacious cabins.

This is to say nothing of her interiors which contain a sauna, two spacious silvery-grey salons and accommodation for 12 guests over five cabins.

LATONA – CRN – 50M/164FT

The Turquoise hull in classic styling reminiscent of the 60s and 70s is beautiful by itself, yet the custom-made Art Noveau interiors from the CRN in-house team are the highlight for anyone lucky enough to step aboard: The music-themed skylounge has a sofa curving around the embroidered harp on the carpet and a white-lacquered piano entertains guests, while on the main deck the focus is placed on formal dining with side terraces opening up the space to the elements. Up to 12 guests are accommodated on board LATONA over five lavish en-suite cabins that feature walnut headboards, oak panelling with fabric centres and custom glass lamps all intrinsic to time period in which it was originally created.
