CALEX YACHT REVIEW

On occasion a truly inspirational and aspirational superyacht is launched with superior design and outstanding features. 67m (219’ 10”) mega yacht CALEX is such a yacht offering next level luxury across her five expansive decks. The lucky few can experience her for themselves as she is now available for charter.

She was built by the skilled craftsmen at Benetti, one of the world’s great yacht builders, and features a custom design from Giorgio Maria Cassetta to a brief from her Californian owner who is known to be passionate about exercise and well-being. And they have certainly treated themselves, with the upper deck forward being a dedicated owner’s apartment with 160sqm of private space including a foredeck terrace.

Exceptional Accommodation for Owners, Guests and Crew

So what better place to start our tour of this beautiful superyacht than from the central lobby with spiral staircase and elevator into the owner’s suite. On entering the suite there is a private entrance hall leading through to a starboard side study and separate walk-in closet. To port is the stunning master bathroom with his and hers areas and a central steam shower. Forward into the master suite itself there is a huge forward facing king-sized bed, lounge area and curved glass doors leading to a private foredeck terrace with fireplace. This deck can also be used as a touch-and-go helipad giving the owner freedom when coming on board.

Guest accommodation is across the main and lower decks with two substantial VIP staterooms on the main deck and four guest staterooms on the lower deck. No details have been overlooked in the décor and layout of the guest accommodation and all the suites feature exquisite wood flooring, soft panelled walls and beautifully appointed cabinetry and ensuite bathrooms. Including the owner’s suite, there is accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 cabins.

And the crew of 16 are equally well catered for with accommodation which, at the owner’s request is decorated to the same standard as the guest area. Separate guest and crew flows and the use of dumb waiters ensure maximum privacy and excellent service on board, connecting these areas with the galley on the main upper decks. Plus, the captain can enjoy space and privacy with a suite and office adjacent to the wheelhouse.

Incredible Entertainment Spaces Inside and Out

Once the guests have boarded and settled into their fabulous suites it’s time to explore the entertainment spaces inside and out. Without exception every inch of space has been thoughtfully designed and decorated with guest comfort and luxury in mind. Dining settings for all 12 guests are available on the upper, main and bridge deck aft and forward in the main salon. Plus there is a beach club and upper salon which can cater for casual meals, perhaps for the kids on board.

The beach club can also be used for water’s edge parties as there is a huge bar and lounge area plus fold out port side terrace. The space can be accessed internally from the main salon or externally via steps down from the main aft deck. A day head and shower mean guests are catered for if they are enjoying a day out on the extensive selection of water toys (including wave runners, sea bobs, e-foils, jet boards, waterskis, kayaks and loads of inflatable towables). Haman and Spa treatments are also offered on board - everything from Swedish and Aromatherapy Massage to Manicures, Hair Styling...and more!

For guests who prefer a more sedate experience, there are sumptuous indoor lounges in the main and upper salon and outdoor sofa across each aft deck. The luxurious sun deck with forward jacuzzi surrounded by sofas, the sheltered gym and aft lounge offer the premiere views.

The interiors are designed by the Benetti Style Department and feature a blended palette of light and dark neutral tones, with extensive use of maple and American walnut, ivory-coloured leathers, and white statuary and crema marfil marble. The fabrics used for the decorative cushions are by Loro Piana Interiors.

The owners are opening their floating paradise to paying guests and she is now cruising select locations on both sides of the Atlantic.
