The prominent Italian builder, Cantiere delle Marche, is thrilled to announce the launch of its all-new Darwin Class 96′ motor yacht “Stella di Mare”. Luxury yacht Stella di Mare, which is going to be officially presented during the next Cannes Boat Show, has been designed and engineered to satisfy all the owner’s requirements. He and his large family will cruise extensively the Mediterranean Sea, covering also the most secluded and frequented spots, and they will then eventually cross the Atlantic Ocean and extend the navigation through US East Coast and the Caribbean.

The owner is a very life-at-sea and yachts passionate, he loves piloting his boat and he uses to spend a lot of time in the wheelhouse. For this reason, and in order to let him share his experience and time also with his family and friends, Cantiere delle Marche has designed a custom sky lounge, open on the wheelhouse. In case of night cruising, the pilot station can be isolated by a rollaway screen avoiding interferences of lights on the bridge’s glasses.

The Darwin Class 96’ maintains the Darwin family feeling, but it differentiates from the previous Yachts of the same line for many features: the interiors – each room is 10sqm bigger -, the VIP cabin is 1,50 sqm longer, with almost the same volumes of the Owner’s Cabin and the main deck is considerably extended.

Regarding the working space, the crew area accommodates 6 people, all the storage spaces have been increased and optimized to allow the maximum capacity in view of long passages and cruises. The garage, 10sqm bigger than the former vessels, contains also 4 bikes, 2 of them electric, with their recharge battery station.

As the interiors, also the exteriors gain in volumes and meters, in order to enjoy the very best experience every minute of the life aboard: all the bridges are noticeably longer and the sundeck has been enlarged to about 50sqm, from the (already big) 40sqm on the Darwin 86 (example is expedition yacht Percheron).

MTU 8V 2000 M72/720 Kw engines give 13,5 knots speed and minimum levels of consumption, thanks to the Heavy Duty setting, that characterizes all CdM’s yachts. A particular attention has been given to the insulation and noise control, on the owner’s specific request: CdM has developed a custom noise damping system which will reduce noise dramatically.

The interiors, designed by architects Pierluigi Floris and Marco Veglia, are contemporary, linear and very luminous, with a total white lower deck enriched by details in essence. Natural Elm and open pore white Elm are the main essences, with Travertino marbles throughout the 30m superyacht Stella di Mare.

CdM’s shareholder and sales director Vasco Buonpensiere comments: ”I am always very excited when I see one of our yachts touching the water for the first time after about 24 months of work, efforts and big challenges all dedicated to our Client’s satisfaction. This 30-meters yacht is once again the confirmation of the importance of owner and shipyard’s relationship and his involvement in the process. That’s why I would like to thank our client, his family and the team here at CdM that has contributed building this beautiful, luxury, tough and safe yacht. Cantiere delle Marche stands out, and always will, for its commitment in satisfying its clients at best”.

The new Stella di Mare yacht totally matches with the Darwin Class’ technical features as far as for the extra-thick steel plates, the Heavy Duty engines, the Cupro Nickel piping, the remote controlled valves, the automatic parallel device for gensets’ management, the treatment systems for bilge, black and grey water, these used also on commercial ships. Every details in the engine room has been designed and constructed following the highest criteria: this is definitely one of the reasons why Cantiere delle Marche has so fastly become a reference in the market in spite of his recent start up.

Darwin Class, as the name could suggest, are a type of vessels that heralds an advance in the evolution of a species, namely the yacht, which, although it modifies its form, keeps its DNA unchanged, the commercial ships, maintaining all the chromosomes that allow it to cruise in safety, in every weather’s condition and in complete independence. The yachts measure from 21 to 45 metres, and they contain features rarely seen in vessels of this size.

CDM’s mission is to make its yachts eco-compatible: an important contribution in this sense is the option to outfit Darwin Class vessels with Azipod electric diesel engine systems developed in collaboration with the most technologically advanced companies in the shipbuilding industry.

Thanks to these innovative, highly manoeuvrable propulsion units the yachts built by Cantiere delle Marche will lower their environmental impact, reduce their emissions and achieve a quantum leap in sailing autonomy before refuelling.

Ever since its recent foundation, about 20 months ago, Cantiere delle Marche has set out to distinguish itself in terms of the contents of its vessels, focussing on top-flight quality and unique design. Each ship, produced in only a limited number of units, guarantees sturdy, seaworthy performance, combined with low fuel consumption and stunning volumes.

Darwin Class, as the name could suggest, are a type of vessels that heralds an advance in the evolution of a species, namely the yacht, which, although it modifies its form, keeps its DNA unchanged, maintaining all the chromosomes that allow it to satisfy its owner’s seagoing yearnings in waters anywhere in the world. The yachts measure from 21 to 40 metres, and they contain features rarely seen in vessels of this size: extra-thick steel plates, engines of heavy-duty dimensions, plus design and construction details normally found of ships with lengths of more than 40 metres.

The Percheron yacht’s interior design distinguish itself thanks to the linearity and lightness of the materials: elm and white lacquer, geometrical details of carpentry, vivid ethnic tissues designed by the Maison Hermès Paris, and a deep attention to the spaces for the children. Everything has been thought considering the personality and the voyage plans of the owners.

CDM’s mission is to make its yachts eco-compatible: an important contribution in this sense is the option to outfit its vessels with Azipod electric diesel engine systems developed in collaboration with the most technologically advanced companies in the shipbuilding industry. Ennio Cecchini, CdM’s Principal Shareholder and CEO, comments:”I am so pleased that one of the most important makers of our Yachts’ success has joined the Board. His global, deep experience in our market has let us reach an extraordinary result in less than two years since the Shipyard’s foundation. Despite the current economic scenario, in 2012 we’ve had already seven new owners that have chosen a CdM Explorer Yacht and the 2013 has wonderfully begun, with the sale of another Nauta Air Explorer Yacht 88’”.

The Shipyard in fact, sold just a few days ago the second Nauta Air: Explorer Yacht in aluminium that combines durable substance, seaworthy performance and low fuel consumption with airy, contemporary design and wide exterior space and surprising volumes. CdM Nauta Air is the result of the collaboration between Architect Mario Pedol, founder, along with Massimo Gino, of the renowned Milan-based design studio Nauta Yacht Design, and CdM. Nauta Air offers the perfect blend of the luxury and style of superyachts with the sturdy substance that characterises Cantiere delle Marche’s yachts such as the Darwin Class Explorers.

Vasco Buonpensiere, CdM’s Sales&Marketing Director, comments:  “It is definitely the best way to begin the 2013. I think this will be another extremely positive year for Cantiere delle Marche: all our efforts and the new negotiations that came after last Autumn’s Boat Shows are now materialising and we are also very proud of our dealers’ terrific work in the US and Asia-Pacific Area. The Nauta Air Range, in particular, appears to be the best answer for the kind of owners that are fascinated by the concept of Explorer Yacht, with light and contemporary design – without changing the contents of the project”. And adds:” Also, I would like to thank the owner of this new Nauta Air 88’, his great captain and all the CdM and Nauta Yacht Design teams that worked together day by day until we have all reached this brilliant result”.

The owner, a famous North European architect, asked to define, together with the shipyard’s team and the designers, the project’s layout: the result is an 88’ semi-displacement Explorer Yacht in aluminium, that can reach 17 knots speed in total comfort and low consumptions. Thanks to the highest level of customisation that CdM offers to its clients, the Nauta Yacht Design team will work together with the owner/architect, designing a unique Yacht that will stand out for its interior’s elegance, refined details and creativity.

Nauta Air yachts have been designed following a new proportion and a different balance of the interiors and exteriors architecture. They are actually in direct visual contact thanks to a wide use of clear glass in both windows and doors. A special attention has been dedicated to the exterior areas, particularly to the 710 SqFt Fly Bridge: with five separated areas (sundeck, lounge, breakfast/lunch, bar and pilot station) all communicating, it easily allows to live the spaces also enjoying the company of family and friends.

The groundwork of solid values that sets the Cantiere delle Marche shipyard apart is provided by the expert group of firms and professionals brought together by the Cecchini family, renowned throughout the years in the shipbuilding industry for having constructed high-technology commercial ships and carried out challenging refitting projects, including the mega-yachts Lady Haya (67 metres) and charter yacht Prometej (45 metres), plus more recent efforts involving highly refined Explorer Vessels.

Working alongside the Cecchini family in the company’s top management is Massimo Virgili, the Ancona entrepreneur who owns the shipyard previously utilised by the Ferretti Group and built only three years ago for the specific purpose of turning out large-size yachts.

Ennio Cecchini, the Managing Director of the Cantiere delle Marche shipyard, has also chosen Vasco Buonpensiere as the Director of Sales & Marketing on his management team, on the strength of the executive’s lengthy experience as an international broker and on his 6 years service as Marketing Director and Brand Manager for Custom Line and CRN of the Ferretti Group.

The Cantiere delle Marche shipyard draws on the skills of acclaimed professionals in the field of design, such as Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Design, as well as on the planning and engineering advances developed by Sergio Cutolo. These are combined with important internal know-how, provided by a network of highly successful firms that belong to its corporate group, such as CPN for steel carpentry, piping and the engine assemblies, and the companies held by Maurizio Gasparroni for interior design which, working hand in hand with the shipyard’s staff, have built dozens of ships and yachts admired throughout the world.

Luxury yacht “PERCHERON” has been presented at the Cannes Boat Show last September and, after a stop in Canary Islands, crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 14 days with no troubles, despite the bad weather conditions, and arrived in Fort Lauderdale for the first time.

A blog, constantly updated by the Captain and the Crew of the Percheron yacht during the cruise through their comments, notes and pictures, will let us be part of the long voyage the owner and his family have begun.

Comments Vasco Buonpensiere, CdM’s Sales & Marketing Director: “CdM’s Darwin Class generated a huge buzz around the Boat Show in Fort Lauderdale: many clients got in touch with us and their enthusiasm leaves us positively surprised. The three negotiations started during the Show are definitely a positive and substantial signal in this respect! I am very enthusiast to having witnessed the appreciation of CDM shipbuilding approach seamlessly merged with the superyacht finishes and detailing of our vessels. M/Y Percheron will stay in Palm Beach until December, available for visits and inspections, and we are looking forward to showing it also in Miami in February, at the Miami Boat Show: I think the US market is more than ready to appreciate a product with the particular features provided by Cantiere delle Marche both in term of quality and design.”

The new Darwin Class 86 M/Y Percheron, has different layout features from the first “Vitadimare3” yacht that marked the beginning of the shipyard based in Ancona, builder of Italian leisure craft, and specifically displacement-design yachts in steel and alluminium. It seems that the market has completely shared CDM’s vision, mission and values, as well as its products: already 7 yachts have been sold to final clients worldwide, and two more are under contract. A terrific results for a new shipyard, in such a difficult economical scenario.

“The yachts that we build here at Cantiere delle Marche are designed into their owners’ image” – says Ennio Cecchini, CEO of CdM – “Percheron in particular, stands out for the intensive and mainly family purposes: the owners left from Cannes in September, crossed the Atlantic Ocean and, after the Boat Shows, they will reach the Caribbean, set course for South America, until the Argentinian coasts. From there, they will cross the Panama Canal and reach Galapagos Islands”.

A voyage that is not coincidental: Cantiere delle Marche is a strong supporter of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands, an international not-for-profit organization that provides scientific research and technical information and assistance to ensure the conservation of the Galapagos Islands for future generations. Since its founding, CdM has pledged to donate a significant amount for each boat sold and the first, important donation came just in Fort Lauderdale, on the 26th October.

Swen Lorenz, Executive Director of the Charles Darwin Foundation commented: “Galapagos is one of the world’s most pristine tropical archipelagos, with wildlife that attracts nature-lovers from around the globe. We are delighted about the support provided by Cantiere delle Marche, which helps us to carry out crucial, cutting-edge scientific research.”

Lee Marine sells the world’s first superyacht Nauta Air 86′ by CdM Yachts

August 07, 2012

Only three months after the Phuket based Lee Marine became Cantiere delle Marche (CdM)’s agent for distribution for Asia/Pacific, China as well as Australia, the world’s first motor yacht Nauta Air 86’ has been sold to an Australian buyer with the vessel to be anchored in Thailand, home of Lee Marine. Nauta Air 86′ superyacht is the result of the partnership between Architect Mario Pedol, founder, together with Massimo Gino, of the well known Milan-based design studio Nauta Yacht Design, and CdM.

Luxury yacht Nauta Air 86′ offers the perfect blend of the luxury and style of super yachts with the sturdy substance that characterizes Cantiere delle Marche’s yachts such as the Darwin Class Explorers, which will feature at the next boat shows of the season.

With the new Nauta Air range, Cantiere delle Marche has established its name as a byword for evolution in the conception of its yachts, projected for a global target. This range of vessels can modify their spatial layout without changing their nautical DNA, making their owner’s dreams come true in waters anywhere in the world.

The all aluminium superyacht Nauta Air 86’ combines durable substance, seaworthy performance and low fuel consumption with airy, contemporary design wide exterior space and surprising volumes. The yacht has a maximum speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 13.5 knots and a maximum range of 3900 nautical miles at 9 knots.

The Nauta Air 86’ sale (the seventh CdM explorer yacht sold in less than 24 months) confirms the effectiveness of CdM global sales policy. Cantiere delle Marche is also about to finalize two other sale contracts for a German and an Israeli client.

Joshua Lee, Managing Director of Lee Marine commented: ”The team at CdM and Nauta design have been outstanding from the first meeting to meet every need of the client. A very enjoyable experience indeed. This range will enjoy great success in today’s new market and we are proud to have sold the first one.”

The client, an Australian citizen with Thai residence, has chosen a Nauta Air 86’ superyacht – modifying the original Nauta Air 80’ project – as the boat that will enable him to sail in safety with an impressive cruising range and in comfort, at the same time entertaining his friends and guests thanks to the wide exterior spaces and volumes.

The owner commented: ”Unlike any expedition yacht I have ever seen in this size, the Nauta Air 86’ has stylish lines making her refined and elegant looking while remaining a true blue water cruiser. I am totally satisfied and proud of the customization and I am sure this will make my first custom yacht extremely comfortable. I can honestly say that the team at CdM, especially Ennio and Vasco, have made this a smooth process and been very attentive to all of my queries and countless questions. The CdM factory is a wonderful new facility with a really great team on board. I got the feeling that everyone is a giant extended family. I am looking forward to the next 18 months and owning the perfect boat. Also a lot more of those long Italian lunches!”

Thanks to the highest level of customization that CdM offers to its clients, the owner was able to define, together with the shipyard’s team and the designers, the project’s layout. For example, the 50 sm.q. panoramic fly bridge is specifically designed for the outdoor living. It has a sun area and a spacious al fresco lounge. Regarding the interior layout, the access to the owner’s suite has been separated from the general entrance to the lower deck and cabins. A private escalier on the main deck directly leads to the wide owner’s suite, giving total privacy.

Nauta Air yachts have been designed to follow new proportions and a different balance of the interior and exterior architecture. They are actually in direct visual contact thanks to a wide use of clear glass in both windows and doors. As an example, the kitchen on the main deck has been designed to communicate both with the inside and the outside. That is why the main salon has been positioned in the centre of the boat following a formal and precise division of the space; conversation, relaxation and dining all in one.

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales and Marketing Director of CdM commented: ”I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people working at Cantiere delle Marche. There is no doubt that each and every client and consultant who steps into the yard and/or on our boats immediately perceive the highest level of quality and finishing available for this size of boat worldwide. This is the result of the effort that everyone at the yard makes day after day.

He added: “What Nauta Design has achieved in translating our brief into the Air range, is close to perfection; boats with a lot of character while maintaining the simplicity and the cleanliness of their lines. These boats express a roaring elegance.”

The Ancona-based builder Cantiere delle Marche has successfully delivered the 82ft motor yacht Furst 60. The Furst 60 superyacht is constructed in steel and aluminium, built as a one-off project for an owner who wanted a yacht that was in essence an Explorer Yacht.  The Furst 60’s Navy Blue hull colour and the high bow are reminiscent of a typical Nordic Tug representing overall safety, toughness as well as reliability.

The owner comments:”Unlike any expedition yacht I have ever seen in this size, the Nauta Air 86 has stylish lines making her refined and elegant looking while remaining a true blue water cruiser. I am totally satisfied and proud of the customization and I am sure this will make my first custom yacht exremely comfortable. I can honestly say that the team at CDM, expecially Ennio and Vasco, have made this a smooth process and been very attentive to all of my queries and countless questions. The CDM factory is a wonderful new facility with a really great team on board, I got the feeling that everyone is a giant extended family. I am looking forward to the next 18 months and building the perfect boat, also a lot more of those long Italian lunches!”

Thanks to the highest level of customization that CdM offers to its clients, the owner was able to define, together with the shipyard’s team and the designers, the project’s layout: for example, the 50 smq panoramic fly bridge is specifically designed for the outdoor living. It has a sun area and a spacious al fresco lounge, all communicating. Regarding the interior layout, the access to the owner’s suite has been separated from the general entrance to the lower deck and cabins. A private escalier on the main deck directly leads to the wide owner’s suite, giving a total privacy.

Nauta Air yachts have been designed following a new proportion and a different balance of the interiors and exteriors architecture. They are actually in direct visual contact thanks to a wide use of clear glass in both windows and doors. As an example, the kitchen on the main deck has been designed to communicate both with the inside and the outside: that’s why the main salon has been positioned in the centre of the boat
following a formal and precise division of the space: conversation, relax and dining area.

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales&Marketing Director of CdM comments:”I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people working at Cantiere delle Marche. There is no doubt that each and every client and consultants who are stepping into the yard and/or on our boats immediatly percieve the highest level of quality and finishing available for this size of boat worldwide. And this is the result of the efforts that everyone at the yard is making day after day, restlessly’. And adds: ‘What Nauta Design has achieved in translating our brief into the Air range, is close to perfection: boats with a lot of character while maintaing the simplicity and the cleanliness of their lines. Boats expressing a Roaring Elegance, indeed.
