Set to start on January 9, the next year’s 11th edition of Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) is expected to open its doors in just four weeks. The in-water display has already taken shape to offer an amazing line up.
All of the major dealers and brokers in Thailand and the region are signed up and will represent all of the major global brands, including Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Jeanneau, Cantiere Della Marche, Riva, Crownline, Azimut, Lagoon, Nautor’s Swan, Beneteau, Gulf Craft, Formula, Majesty, Princess, Sunseeker, Fairline, Tiara Yachts, Selene Ocean Trawlers, San Lorenzo, Fountaine Pajot, Island Spirit, Hanse and Wider Yachts Asia.
From small trailer-boats to luxury sail and motor yachts, and everything in between, the on-water line-up is set to be the best yet and includes a few surprises yet to be announced.
Exhibition Hall Brings Together Marine and Lifestyle
The Hall is filling up and a number of new businesses, never-seen-before at PIMEX are exhibiting this year. Charter agents and equipment and services suppliers have reserved prime indoor space. Already confirmed are South East Asia Sales and Service, Marina Systems International, Toyobo Thailand, Stauff Thailand, Raymarine, Respo Trailers, QBE Marine Insurance and Seiwa from Italy, along with an Italian delegation of companies together with the Italian Thai Chamber of Commerce.
Ocean Marina, Royal Phuket Marina, and the newly opened Port Takola Marina are offering berthing and residential property.
Partnering with SMART Property – the region’s leading luxury property shows – a number of regional and international investment opportunities will be showing in the Hall, including Knight Knox, Megaworld and Hamilton Grand who will be joined by Vista Del Mar and RPM La Reserve from Phuket.
Happy Birthday to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej
On December 5th, His Majesty the King of Thailand celebrated his 86th birthday, an occasion of celebration for the entire country. An avid sailor, His Majesty won the gold medal in the South East Asian Peninsular Games in 1967 in an OK dinghy with his daughter Princess Ubolratana.
In 1987 he became the Patron of the Phuket Kings Cup Regatta which is held every year around December 5th and this year hosted over 100 yachts competing in 15 classes.
PIMEX would like to wish HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej good health and a long and prosperous reign.
Safer Phuket
On the 9th and 10th of January a conference will be held in the show by the newly launched initiative Safer Phuket. The inaugural Coastal Waters Safety Summit will see the seven key Thai government departments and authorities come together for the first time to identify the best way that they can build a programme that supports Safer Phuket and its vision of international standards and service within Phuket. This is a landmark event that can have significant impact on all aspects of marine safety.
PIMEX is Russian-language Friendly
This year’s international marketing plan has had a strong focus on Russian visitor marketing, recognizing the changing demographic of PIMEX’s visitor profile. In reaching out to Russian customers we have partnered with two additional Russian-language yachting publications – Motorboat & Yachting and Captain Club.
Phuket and PIMEX also had a strong presence at the DOMEXCO international property exhibition Moscow. The largest show of its type in Russia, this year it featured a Thailand Pavilion sponsored by our local media partners the Phuket Gazette which showcased PIMEX to this key target market. And at PIMEX, a number of exhibitors have confirmed they will have Russian-speaking staff to ensure the best possible experience for Russian visitors.

Display space is available for the show, in water is approaching 90% full and booths and open plan spaces are open for booking in the air-conditioned hall.
