South East Asia yacht charters have grown markedly in popularity in recent years, just as the choice of superyachts available has increased. This is an intriguing region to cruise and explore by superyacht. It has extensive tropical coastlines, exotic destinations, amazing beaches as well as a huge variety of marine life. Cruising around South-East Asia offers culture, history and locations that are unmatched worldwide. The region takes in many countries that are completely different from one another. Just think Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Singapore and more – there is so many amazing places to visit as packed into this region.
When on a luxury yacht charter vacation, you will be able to visit quite a few of these destinations. Thailand is one of these destinations. Over 3,000 kms of coastline are mixed with spectacular beaches, rock formations, world class diving sites and snorkelling. Key areas in the Gulf of Thailand accessible by luxury yacht charter include Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Chang and the Andaman Islands. Thailand is known as “The Land of Smiles” and quite rightly too. Wherever you go in this country, the locals are smiling. The capital, Bangkok, is a fantastic, lively, vibrant city with many people starting their exploration travels here. Thailand has many beautiful temples, mouth-watering cuisine, elephant parks, mountainous regions and of course the most exciting nightlife.
Laos is a little off-the-grid, however because of its remoteness and slow pace of life, it’s also a destination that is very popular. Discover Laos’ secret, secluded beaches, treasures and remote towns. Enjoy the country’s stunning waterfalls, hiking, hot air ballooning and caving. It’s an authentic place and often less crowded than neighbouring countries such as Cambodia and Thailand.
The coastline off Vietnam is also an idyllic superyacht charter destination. Khanh Hoa Province has a 60-mile coastline with more than 70 islands, just waiting to be explored. The clear calm waters are perfect for cruising especially between May and September. Nha Trang is Vietnam’s premier beach resort town located on the south-east coast. There are some great restaurants here serving mouth-watering seafood like oysters, shellfish, snails and crustaceans. The islands south/south east of Nha Trang offer dozens of protected anchorages for any season and the diving in the Hon Mun Marine Park is said to be some of the best in Asia.
During your superyacht vacation a must to include in your itinerary is Angkor Wat in Cambodia. This ancient temple is absolutely spectacular especially when the sun is setting. Malaysia on the other hand is ideal if you love nature and wildlife. The northern part of Borneo is well developed with large cities and palm oil plantations everywhere. Indonesia and the Philippines both have lots of things to discover while Burma or Myanmar as it is now known, is a fairly new destination for superyacht holiday makers.

Emi is the Treasure of Salila. That goes without saying. She was our good angel for the whole trip. And she was perfect in anything she did. She was amazing. The crew was also always friendly and ready to help! And we generally felt very well taken care of. The towable arrangements worked perfect! Exactly as I wanted :-) The diving courses: The ratio of instructors per capita was excellent! All the instructors were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and generally very pleasant people. We enjoyed our time with them. Diving there in Indonesia was spectacular! And Salila is very well prepared for anything related to diving! Alcohol arrangements worked perfect, thanks to Emi :-))))) The food was adequate, given the number of people, different tastes and the one-week-no-harbour travel :-) The boat quality. I would say it was a precise match for an expedition tour. Salila exactly met our expectations. It was not a luxury yacht, but we were not disappointed a single moment :-) Spacious, comfortable, honest, we liked it a lot! And two master-cabins worked sooo well!!! We had our parents and ourselves treated to those rooms, while other guests did not feel downshifted in any manner. So, overall that was a fantastic trip! We ticked all the boxes! - Deserted Islands – yes, - Island with the lake inside - please! - Volcano island - enjoyed! - Comodo dragons - two times - Manta rays - wow! - Hiking, beach combing, snorkelling, kayaking – super - waterfall jumping - yep! So the tour was really rather an adventure for the active people like us! We liked it a lot. Thank you once again. It is Monday morning and we are just waking up from traveling home. We got off the yacht on Saturday and spent the night in San Juan. I was very pleased with the crew. This was my 5th charter within the last 13 months and by far the best crew. They all had great personalities, and worked very well together. John was a very accommodating captain. I felt like everything happened very smoothly and with precision. I would highly recommend this crew and yacht.
