This part of the site showcases news and information relating to new luxury yacht designs and design concepts as created and sent in by the large yacht designer community. Yacht design is the sometimes unheralded heart of the luxury yacht industry as this is where a large custom yacht begins her journey from conception to eventual launch and navigation.

CharterWorld keeps informed of the latest ideas, designs and technology in yachting as a pointer to where the yachting industry is heading. Some of the yacht designs in this section are general ideas or concepts that may never be built and become launched yachts whilst others have been commissioned and are currently in build or navigation.

The hangar system on the Bray 42 m Ocean Explorer motor yacht places the helicopter into what would typically be the central engine room space, but in this case the below-decks area is split into port and starboard mechanical bays either side of the hangar. Through the use of diesel/electric propulsion we were able to fit a standard-shafted drive system with the electric motors mounted on the prop shafts below the sole plates.
