One of the most wonderful things about a luxury super yacht charter is the fact that you can spend your days being as active and lazy as you like. MY Starfire is perfectly equipped with everything you need to never leave with an onboard cinema, private spa, personal chef and plenty of toys and tenders. Yet for those who have itchy feet and want to see beyond the port, the Mediterranean coast is a veritable treasure chest of unrivalled beauty. From shady acres to clinging hilltop towns, vineyards that hide the spires of medieval churches, and meadows where wildflowers run wild – you are sure to be inspired by the wonder and whimsical nature of these European walks.

Vereda Do Pico Ruivo, Madeira

Take a walk on the wild side in stunning Madeira, in Portugal, this is a land of luxury yacht charter dreams, a place where the food is fine – the wine spectacular and the beaches carved from a storybook picture of the perfect paradise. After spending the morning diving from the deck and devouring a delicious brunch you can walk off all the suckling pig, fresh fruits and ripe cheeses with a long and rambling walk in the cloaked green hills. The Vereda Do Pico Ruivo is the most spectacular path to take, a trail that cuts across the mountainous terrain with only a thin lip to stop you tumbling into the ravine. The arresting sight of the Atlantic Ocean churning up a mighty white water surge of a swell, the echo of birds lost in the canopy of trees, and the sight of the mountains rising in the distance, all these things make for a peaceful trek immersed in the might of nature.

The Cinque Terre – Italy

The cool mountain air, the prettiest villages in perhaps the whole of Europe, the scent of wild strawberries and the chance to glance MY Starfire glowing like a diamond set against the blue seas – this is the picture perfect image of the Cinque Terre in Italy. Five pastel-coloured towns strung like lanterns across the sheer cliff drops of Italy, ten miles of glorious walks stopping along the way to sip a glass of pale peachy wine in the chic taverns and taking a few moments to try and spot dolphins skimming the surface of the duck egg blue seas. After trailing the coast, you can even turn inland and hike Vernazza’s 13th-century Reggio sanctuary with its donkey trails and old world churches sending their spires rising into the sky. Back on board MY Starfire, you can finish the day with a dip in the bubbling Jacuzzi and a few shots of the sunshine bright and citrus laden limoncello.

Fethiye-Antalya, Turkey – The Lycian Way

There is an everlasting loveliness to Turkey and indeed, this is why she has been enchanting sailors and travelers for years. The collision of West meets East spills over into something truly exotic. On a luxury yacht charter, you glide through turquoise and silver waters, you eat fresh fish caught by the locals in tiny fishing villages and you buy beautiful trinkets from the leather-laden bazaars. There are paths in Turkey that can cut you straight to the bone with their beauty, places so steeped in charm and history that you will be bowled over by the stories the footprints tell. The Lycian Way is one of those places, roman legions and the men of Alexander the Great once filed along this route and with a good pair of shoes you can do the same. Old roads, crumbling goat tracks, and village paths that wind from Fethiye to Antalya for over three hundred miles make the track and epic journey. You can make the pilgrimage across the gold cut hills or you can drop in and out and always return to the elegant splendor of MY Starfire to soak weary bones in the hot tub.

Villefranche – Eze-le-Village, French Riviera

Everyone falls hard for the French Riviera, whether you love the glitz and glamor of Cannes, the sophisticated style of Nice, the market cries of Provence or the lavender fields of Grasse, this nook of France is filled to the brim with good wine, fine food, flavor and colorful charm. Lap up the luxury yacht charter lifestyle in Monaco by throwing wild soirees on the deck of MY Starfire, sipping champagne in the Nikki Beach Club of St Tropez, and brunching on beautiful flaky pastries every morning. When you want to work off all that glorious butter and cheese you can hike the hills leading from Villefranche to Eze. This is a lovely lazy hike that takes you through cozy cobbled pedestrian streets, legendary coastal roads, and imposing fortresses. Finish by going through the dense and sweet-scented pines of the Mediterranean woodland for unrivaled views out across the water with pristine pale super yachts smudging the horizon.
