10-day private yacht charter itinerary from Monaco to Monaco, visiting Portofino, Cinque Terre, Island of Elba, South Eastern Corsica, Porto Vecchio, La Maddelena archipelago, Porto Cervo, Palau, Porto and Cote d'Azure.

Day 1

Board in Monaco and get acquainted with the yacht. Enjoy a welcome lunch at anchor off Monaco then set sail for Portofino. Once a small historic fishing village, Portofino is now one of the most famous ports in the Mediterranean.This port is charming and picturesque – framed by rolling hills covered in olive groves. Portofino’s popularity as a quaint and colorful town has now made it a famous port of call for luxury yachts. If you’d like to eat out tonight you may like to enjoy dinner at the famous Hotel Splendido.

Day 2:

After breakfast, set off along the coast of ‘Cinque Terra’ – five villages connected along the coast. Anchor off Palmaria, an island just off the coast in the Nature Reserve. The highlight of the island is the Blue Grotto, accessible only from the sea. Enjoy a delicious lunch onboard and perhaps take a swim or snorkel. After lunch continue to Portovenere and anchor just outside the port.

Day 3:

After breakfast, cruise to the island of Elba, one of the greenest and most beautiful islands in The Med. Elba offers wide sandy beaches and romantic bays wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. Anchor off in one of these bays for lunch and move in close to anchor off Porto Ferreira for the evening. The port is lined with beautiful little seaside restaurants and lots of shopping and boutiques are close by. Elba is famous for being Napoleon’s place of exile in 1814. Elba has many monuments and museums dedicated to his memory. You may also want to try some Aleatico or Moscato, Elban wines which are two of Tuscany's best!

Day 4:

Your crew will set off in the early morning to cruise south to the beautiful Tuscan region around Santa Stefano. Spend the day exploring the crystal clear waters of Isola Giglio and bays including Cala Piccola and Cala Piatti and Acqua Dolce and Viste, all in peninsula of Argentario. This evening, anchor off Porto Ecole. After dinner, settle in to watch a DVD or retire to your suite as the crew undertake an overnight cruise towards Southern Corsica.

Day 5:

Awake off the beautiful coastline of South Eastern Corsica and Bonifaccio which sits like a masterpiece in the extreme south and is a unique place of interest. No one can resist the fascination of this old town which is dazzlingly sits perched atop a cliff, nor the appeal of its old alleys which climb up toward the sky. Bonifaccio is a town of immense charm and a wonderful place to sample some or the local bars and restaurants.

Day 6:

Cruise today to Porto Vecchio – Set on a hillock overlooking a beautiful deep blue bay, Porto Vecchio, is said to be one of the most distinguished harbours in Europe". Enjoy the day taking in the fabulous scenery or visiting one of the areas many stunning beaches.

Day 7:

Today cruise a short distance to La Maddelena archipelago. Crystal clear waters, pink sand, a series of coves and rocks, blue cliffs rising from deep seabeds, intense colours: the Maddalena Islands (Province of Sassari) are a must for whoever wants to discover the beauties of the Sardinian Sea. The islands are located inside the Straits of Bonifacio along the north-eastern coast of Sardinia. La Maddalena Island is surrounded by Budelli, Caprera, Razzoli, Santa Maria, Santo Stefano and Spargi. This group of small granite rock islands has been inhabited since prehistoric times. You may wish to head ashore for lunch.

In the late afternoon, continue onto Porto Cervo for the evening. Porto Cervo was originally built by the Agha Khan, as a playground for Europe’s glitterati; it’s a shopping paradise, with all the big names a stones throw away from each other. Every evening the people throng the pretty streets and restaurants to see and be seen!

Day 8:

Today cruise around the spectacular beach at Porto Liscia, near Palau. Enjoy some time here before heading to Cala di Volpe where you can moor for the evening. Perhaps head ashore this evening and enjoy a meal out. The crew can cruise overnight part way up the west coast of Corsica.

Day 9:

Awake anchored off Porto. With its coastline bordered by red granite cliffs that plunge into a sea of intense blue, the Gulf of Porto is well deserving of its classification by UNESCO as a “world heritage site”. It is a wonderful display of nature at its finest. Visit the Gulf of Porto for water sports action or take a trip into the charming old village of Porto itself. After breakfast and a little exploration, continue north to the town of Calvi. Calvi has been called the Corsican port most like the French Riviera. The centre is sunny, with palm trees and quaint shops. On the south side is a long crescent of sandy beach which offers water sports, swimming, and beautiful views back toward the town and Citadel. After dinner, the crew will set off for the Cote d’Azur.

 

Day 10:

Awake anchored in the Bay of St Tropez. Today you may like to head for the famous Pampelonne Beach for lunch at one of the chic beach clubs. Spend the evening in St Tropez enjoying the myriad of boutique streets and wonderful restaurants.

Day 11:

The crew will depart early and head back to Monaco for disembarkation by midday.
