Codecasa 42 Yacht Vintage Series

September 14, 2010

Codecasa yacht builder from the Italian town of  Viareggio, introduces their new 42 metre super yacht Codecasa 42 with a Hull n. F73. The new project of the historical Shipyard of Viareggio, the Codecasa 42m motoryacht from the Vintage Series, follows known paths to mark out new roads and turns towards the past, not with the melancholic attempt to celebrate something that is lost, but rather, with the purpose of recovering a timeless style and to find in it the push to jump into the future.

Codecasa 42 metre Vintage Series Motor Yacht

Codecasa F73 superyacht’s lines with a faintly retro taste co-exist with a forefront technology; the safety of this F 73 hull is assured by last generation outfits goes together with a d’antan style that is still able to rouse new and exciting emotions; the richness of its precious materials matches with an intentionally simple and decontracté design, which is entrusted to Arch. Della Role, with whom the Codecasa Shipyard since years has developed an active co-operation.

Codecasa F73 super yacht Guest Cabin

From a past age, not too far away, this new Codecasa 42m Yacht Vintage Series is taking her inspiration for her plain and traditional lines, that recall the main features of vessels that have made the history of the yachting, such as Moratti family’s mythic “Paraggina” yacht or the equally legendary super yacht “Marlin”, owned by the Kennedys. And like these ones, perhaps, also the new Codecasa 42 superyacht has the ambition to be one day recognized by her captivating silhouette and pointed out as the yacht that has marked the beginning of a new era in the shipbuilding and opened new boundaries in the luxury.

As a reply to the slender profiles and sleek lines that have characterized (or rather standardized) the yachts of the last generation, finally on the horizon looms a boat with outlines that are temptingly firm, clean and compact. The Codecasa 42m Yacht does not attack the sea but rather harmoniously combines with it.

Sunreef 80 ULTIMATE Yacht

September 14, 2010

Sunreef introduces the new Sunreef 80 Ultimate Catamaran, one of the new range of high-performance cruisers from 80 to 150 feet. The new Sunreef 80 Ultimate is ultra modern yacht with an advanced design line, featuring green appliances. Sunreef is an internationally recognised leader in the design and construction of luxurious multihull yachts.

Sunreef 80 Ultimate Catamaran

Sunreef’s in-house naval architects and exterior stylists have carefully studied all the feedback from the potential clientèle for such type of boat and have come up with a new, stunning project of a light, fast and performant boat which has made a spectacular appearance in the industry and has set new standards. Well known for its innovative projects, Sunreef is stepping into the world of sport, strong emotions and adventure.

Sunreef 80 Ultimate Multihull Yacht

The Sunreef 80 Ultimate motoryacht carbon fibre yacht has thin and sleek marine hulls with reversed bow and integrated stepped hull chins which is essential for the yacht’s high performance. The superstructure will be shorter and more minimalist than on a conventional leisure catamaran which will add to the boat’s lightness and streamlined look. The flybridge is an option here as the height of the boat decides on the level of air resistance. Both hulls and entire forward section of the superstructure will be covered by glass panels which will make this vessel luminous and provide the guests with breathtaking and delightful views. An alternative option for the hull are solar panels providing the yacht with natural solar energy that can be connected to the water heating system. Two vertical retractable wind generators will be installed on each hull as well. The mast will be moved back to the middle of the boat which will contributes to achieving the most optimal balance, thus giving the ultimate navigation comfort. The sail plan of the new Sunreef 80 Ultimate sailing catamaran is adequately calculated to reach the top speeds of 20 + knots. As for propulsion system, Sunreef’s engineering office is currently working on hybrid propulsion for this and other units.

Sunreef 80 Ultimate Sailing Catamaran

Two external helm stations will be placed on each side of the cockpit and a third one inside. The cockpit will feature the usual comfortable seating and dining area for 12 as well as a storage for water toys or the provisioning for long crossings.

Sunreef 80 Ultimate Yacht from above

Internal space of the new superyacht Sunreef 80 Ultimate will depend on the Client’s preferences, according to the “custom finish philosophy” at Sunreef. Two options are possible: leaving the saloon as an open, undivided space, or accommodating it with the galley, dinning and lounge. In both scenarios, the owner suite will be located on the main level in the forward section. It will have a stunning, uncovered view over the sea through the vast glass wall and sliding doors giving access to the private outdoor loggia with spa pool, bar and lounge. The guest cabins and crew quarters will be placed down the hulls.

Benetti Class Tradition 105 Yacht

September 10, 2010

The Benetti Class Tradition 105 super yacht has been presented at the Cannes International Boat Show 2010 together with three new Azimut-Benetti Group yachts, the Azimut 64 motor yacht, the Atlantis 48 and the Benetti Delfino 93 yacht.

Benetti Tradition 105 motor yacht

In the wake of the great success achieved right from the construction of the first model of the previous series 100’, Benetti has developed the new Tradition 105 motoryacht, the second of the seven models in the new Benetti Class range (first being the Delfino 93 motor yacht) . Lengthening of the hull and the new form of the stern ensure high performance in terms of sea-keeping and manoeuvrability and significant benefits in terms of speed and autonomy. These characteristics are achieved above all by addition of the bulb, which makes the new Tradition a real navetta with navigation standards found only in the big megayachts.

The most important new feature in the layout of the new luxury motor yacht Tradition 105, which has been completely revolutionised, concerns the two main decks due to the position of the engine room which has been shifted from the centre of the vessel to the very end of the stern. The new position of the engines is not only an advantage in terms of functionality and comfort of the interior and high acoustic comfort level of the guest areas, but also an important technological development enabling the luxury motor yacht Tradition 105 to accommodate the most innovative propulsion technologies both today and tomorrow. The large space left free in the centre of the vessel has permitted the creation of an entire area reserved for the guests only, with four large cabins that can be accessed directly from the foyer located on the main deck, where the vertical, functional and ergonomic connections have been concentrated, making the living area of the main deck much more spacious and convivial, with a separate dining area for ten people. Also in terms of external space, the Tradition 105 yacht offers solutions designed to meet all individual needs: the upper deck and the sun deck feature areas entirely dedicated to sunbathing with Jacuzzi, and relaxation areas equipped with dining table for ten guests.

The first model of the Tradition 105 motoryacht series comes in a modern style featuring Zen influences to satisfy even the most minimalist owners, but it is also available in the classic style version. Both solutions have been designed by the French designer François Zuretti who has chosen light colours, tone on tone, to create relaxed atmospheres full of light with simple furnishing elements.

Motor Yacht Azimut 64

September 10, 2010

The Motoryacht Azimut 64 is one of the four exciting new models presented at the 2010 Cannes International Boat Show by the Azimut-Benetti Group.

Azimut 64 Motor Yacht External View

The Azimut 64 motoryacht is the natural heir to the Azimut 62 yacht, a model that recorded an unprecedented sales success (200 units sold worldwide), and reinterprets and further updates the strengths that made its predecessor so successful: stylistic innovation, outstanding safety level and excellent navigability.

The originality and sporting qualities of the design are evident at first glance: the lines of the deckhouse convey elegance and harmony, with bold glass panels, made more aggressive by the flybridge fin which emerges at the height of the saloon. Safety is certified by the class A homologation, while comfort and performance are guaranteed by the use of innovative materials (carbon fibre, for example) and the excellent manoeuvrability and sea-keeping of the vessel.

Azimut 64 Yacht Swimming Platform

The Azimut 64 yacht  is provided with Easy Docking assisted mooring system and Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilisers which reduce rolling up to 80% both at anchor and during navigation. Organisation of the space is another strength of the Azimut 64 motoryacht: each area is fully exploited to optimise the available capacity, while the use of low furniture allows plenty of light into the interior. Numerous storage spaces are provided on the main deck, both in the saloon (unit measuring approximately 3 metres) and in the lobby going down to the lower deck where further electric household appliances can be housed. The flybridge is the most complete in its category and, in terms of dimensions and equipment, constitutes the heart of the boat, the area to which the owner and his guests gravitate, dedicated to relaxation and socialising: double sunpad, dinette for 7/8 people, optional hard top and customisable stern area. The stern up-down platform completes all the equipment necessary for life “en plein air”.

The owner’s area offers complete relaxation with maximum functionality. Four large windows light an area which also houses a dinette with two comfortable sofas. Every detail of the VIP cabin positioned at the bow has been carefully studied in order to maximise storage space and the toilette is top of the range with shower enclosure. Optimisation of the space has resulted in a large comfortable crew cabin which is particularly roomy in the new luxury motor yacht Azimut 64.

Sunseeker Manhattan 63 Yacht interior by Design Unlimited

September 10, 2010

The new Sunseeker Manhattan 63 motoryacht is the latest flybridge  yacht range from the company, for which Design Unlimited are designing the interior. The two companies have been collaborating for some time, as Design Limited is also responsible for the interior design of such Sunseeker yachts as the Predator 130, the Sunseeker 80 motor yacht,  their 30 metre yacht, together with a number of smaller Sunseeker crafts.

Design Unlimited Manhattan 63 motor yacht Master-stateroom

The Manhattan 63 motoryacht continues the theme found across the range of roomy interiors that balance the use of cool wood veneers with pale wall coverings and head liners to maximise the impact of the available natural light. The layout ensures plenty of private space for the eight guests on the lower deck while creating a surprisingly large communal space on the upper deck stretching across the saloon, dining area and internal steering position. The stunning panoramic superstructure windows that characterise this area further enhance the feeling of openness.

Design Unlimited Manhattan 63 yacht saloon

Motor Yacht Sunseeker Manhattan 63 Interior options include the choice between an upper or lower deck galley, and that of three or four staterooms with a midships full‐beam master suite boasting large hull‐side windows.

Finalists for the 2010 International Design Awards

September 09, 2010

ISS (International Superyacht Society) today releases its lists of finalists for the 2010 International Design Awards. For 20 years, ISS’s Design Awards—based entirely on peer review—has celebrated the very finest naval architecture, design, interiors, engineering and builds the large yacht industry presents annually.

Each year, nominees are submitted to ISS by the large yacht industry’s leading builders, designers and stewards. The categories are as follows:

Power: (3) awards for size categories 24m-40m, 40m-65m, 65m+

Sail: (2) awards for size categories 24m-40m, 40m+

Interior Design: (1) award for power or sail

Vibrant Curiosity super yacht

The individual selection of five finalists in each award grouping results from the privilege to vote that ISS membership affords. A distinguished and impartial group of judges then weighs the qualifications of each yacht with the winning yachts announced at ISS’s annual International Design Awards Gala, this year on Thursday, 28 October from 7:00 P.M. at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale.

ISS also recognizes achievement in the business and service of superyachts. During the Gala, ISS Awards of Distinction—Business(Person) of the Year and Innovation Awards as well as the Leadership Award and Distinguished Crew Award—are presented.

The ISS Business (Person) of the Year is awarded to those demonstrating excellence in their area of superyacht expertise within the previous year; nominations come from both the industry and the ISS board with the board making the finalist selections. Previous honourees have included Frans Heesen, Heesen Yachts and John Dane, Trinity Yachts.

Open to every aspect of the industry—from crew training to technological advances to environmental stewardship—the Excellence in Innovation award is given to an individual or business that has demonstrated innovation in their endeavours. Nominations come from the industry and ISS board members vote to determine finalists. In 2009 and 2008 respectively, Carlisle and Finch and Agrimond were awarded the Excellence in Innovation honour.

ISS’s Leadership Award recognizes an individual or business whose distinctive work and commitment to the industry has contributed—over a substantial period of time—to the sustainable growth of the superyacht community worldwide. Nominations and selection for The Leadership Award are made by those who have received the award in previous years with the previous year’s winner presiding; this year, the chairmanship honour goes to Tony Hambrook, Alloy Yachts.

The Distinguished Crew Award is presented in years when the DCA award judges are presented with a nomination that represents the essence of the award (nominations are sought industry-wide). Specifically, these honours are designed to recognize yacht crew whose distinguished acts of service best exemplify the standards to which professional yacht crew aspire.

ISS’s Business (Person) of the Year and Innovation of the Year winners will also be honoured at the Meeting of the Associations in Monaco on Wednesday, 22 September 2010.

ISS would like to acknowledge the invaluable, and continuing, support of its gala event sponsors—Robb Report, Show Management, The Yacht Report Group, Westrec Marinas and Wright Maritime Group.
