Megayacht ATTESSA IV’s impressive rebuild by Washington Yachting Group

July 29, 2010

Mega yacht Attessa IV will be unveiled October 1, 2010 in Vancouver BC, Canada after a 3 1/2 year extensive reconstruction to an ‘as new’ condition. The refit and reconstruction of superyacht Attessa IV is set to become one of the most impressive refits ever.

Superyacht Attessa IV was originally launched in 1999 as Evergreen, built for the chairman of the Taiwan-based Evergreen Corporation, at the company’s shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan. The exterior styling of Evergreen was designed by Diana Yacht Design with interior styling by Felix Buytendijk.

The superyacht Evergreen was bought by American businessman in 2007 who renamed the yacht Attessa IV and contracted Washington Yachting Group (WYG) to manage the extensive refit.  Glade Johnson is responsible for the new interior and exterior styling of megayacht Attessa IV.

Captain Ted McCumber, of the Washington Yachting Group who is Project Manager of luxury yacht Attessa IV kindly sent CharterWorld the image below.

Not only has the superyacht Attessa IV received a dramatic reconstruction of her interior and exterior, the yacht has also been lengthened and will be in the top 25 of the largest superyachts in the World. As superyacht Evergreen, she measured 302ft and has now been lengthened to 330ft (or 110.6m).  The megayacht Attessa IV has also been brought to Lloyd and MCA Class.

The interior renovations of the motor yacht Attessa IV is thought to have included the installation of a spa on the lower deck and a new top deck that features a large Jacuzzi pool and a hanging glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly. The superyacht will have a helipad on the upper aft deck and forepeak and an as seen in the rendering above. The massive 5 level superyacht has a deep blue hull with curvaceous exterior lines and enormous amounts of deck space for entertaining.

CharterWorld looks forward to her unveiling and will bring you all the latest news and developments regarding the impressive refit of the megayacht Attessa IV.

To see just how dramatic the reconstruction of superyacht Attessa IV has been, see photos of the yacht below, before her refit.

Marine Business strengthens its image

July 21, 2010

The Spanish company Marine Business, a leader in interior design in the nautical sector, is strengthening its image and international penetration this year by expanding its presence at international boat shows.

Marine Business Product

Marine Business is already present in 40 countries through distribution networks and importers. Nevertheless, international market demand is constantly growing, and so the company decided to increase its development in foreign countries.

To this end, the company will go to most of the international exhibitions in autumn this year. Besides being at Cannes, Genova and Mets, as it has been doing for years, Marine Business will present its new releases at the Boot Dusseldorf exhibition in January 2011, the most important in the sector. Also for the first time, Marine Business will exhibit its designs at the SEATEC in Carrara, Italy, one of the most important professional exhibitions in this sector. The Barcelona Boat Show complements the calendar.

Marine Business is one of the most truly international Spanish companies, since it started exporting its designs in 1994. Over time, Marine Business has become the reference point for the sector, creating the concept of “Nautical Interior Design”: exclusive designs, custom made to the needs of each ship-builder, not striving only for comfort, but also for aesthetically pleasing designs in their craft.

“When we started on 1985, our slogan was “We dress up your vessel”” explains Noemi Ducable, Managing Director of Marine Business. This philosophy stills guides the company, since it started design and production of its own collections in the 90s, tailor-made to customer requirements.

Its annual collections have achieved a balance between classic and modern designs, and very specially, on-board utility. Along with its emblematic crockery, glasses and bed linen, Marine Business offers a large variety of original accessories conceived to make on-board life much easier. Multiuse trays, personalised champagne glasses, stands for glasses, self-contained cooking utensils or a wide variety of waterproof textiles, are just some of the products that year after year they include in their catalogue, and that now has more than 500 references.

This year Marine Business will present their new releases for the season at the autumn exhibitions in France, Italy, Holland, Germany and Barcelona. Their range will increase with new additions: coloured glasses, salad bowls, trays and a renewed range of carpets.

The star of the 2011 catalogue will be the new textile collection, which offers bed linen, quilts, cushions and towels, all which can be combined, so each ship-owner can make a complete trousseau with elements going from classic to modern designs, all in blue, beige and maroon colours.

The 44 metre Super Yacht H2OME

July 19, 2010

Superyacht H2OME is an extraordinary superyacht of 44 metres in length over all, constructed at Cantiere MMGI in Monfalcone, Italy in 2009. The slender and stylish motor yacht H2OME can accommodate up to ten guests in 5 luxurious contemporary suites. She is able to reach a maximum speed of 36 knots and cruise at the comfortable speed of 18 knots.

H2ome Motor Yachts Luxurious yet simple Interior

The H2OME yacht is a result of joint collaboration between the proud Owner, the HDUEO Design of Raffaella Bergé, the architects Frederica Giovannone and Marina Grasso of the A-Lab studio, and last but not least the Studio Navirex of Mario Grasso.

The idea behind the SuperYacht H2OME was to design a motor yacht with a hull similar to that of a sailing yacht, with reduced superstructure, which would give her the possibility to navigate at two different speeds.  Luxury Motor yacht H2OME is constructed from a light Alloy designed to reduce weight and increase speed. Her propulsion is provided by double water jet linked to twin CAT engines with 1.925hp each, allowing an average cruising speed of approximately 18 knots. The superyacht H2OME also has a 4.400hp Vericor gas turbine to feed a third waterjet that increases the total installed power to 8.250hp enabling a maximum speed of up to 36 knots. Because a ‘zero speed’ stabilization system would limit the high speed performances of M/Y H2OME one was not fitted however the yacht already features high stability thanks to an extremely low barycentre and reduced height of the superstructure. These results were obtained thanks to an optimal weight control, which maintains a displacement of about 170 tonnes, which is quite reduced for a yacht of 44 metres.

H2OME Cabin

The stability of the M/Y H2OME  is excellent, thanks to the optimal design of the hull. The motor yacht cuts the waves almost better than recent military vessels.

The idea behind the design of the yacht was to create a vessel, with the exterior and the interior as simple and essential as possible, but at the same time transmitting strong emotions.

H2OME Motor Yacht En Suite Bathroom

The simplicity of the interior magnificently reflects the richness of the materials used, such as the Mother of Pearl used throughout the interior, from the lower deck, to the cabins, right through to the bathrooms and corridors.

The use of Mother of Pearl and hand-crafted objects, like the lighting in the bathrooms, made of Nautilus, the luxurious bed covers, the bed site cabinets in embossed leather remind of the fish in the sea, was designed to resemble the environment and shapes of the deep sea creatures.

H2ome Motor Yacht - Stairwell

If the lower deck of the Luxury Super Yacht H2OME reflects the deep sea, than the main deck represent an island. Here one can find shellfish and two walls of flora that oxygenate and perfume all through the saloon area and its surroundings.

H2OME Sundeck

Amongst the few typical elements of the H2OME motoryacht, that introduce the concept of a ‘yachting villa’ on board are the floor to ceiling glass windows in the saloon and the blades of light that replace the spotlights.

H2OME Main Deck

The interior of the S/Y H2OME boasts wonderful light and airy living spaces: The spacious full beam Owners cabin is located at stern with an en-suite and walk in wardrobe. The other four cabins, three guests and one twin cabin are situated on the lower deck just before the crew area, which offers three double cabins and one single. All of them with their own en-suite bathroom and one big galley with a dinette.

H2OME Lower Deck

H2OME Yacht  reflects a complete harmony born and developed thanks to a long journey of ideas between her Owner and the designers. Please, follow this link to read more about this magnificent Yacht H2OME. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

Superyacht MYSTIC’s interior by Schnaase Interior Design

July 07, 2010

Schnaase Interior Design has unveiled images of their new interior for the superyacht Mystic, a 46 metre superyacht which was designed by Diana Yacht Design and has now been built and launched by CMB Yachts.

CMB Superyacht Mystic profile

Superyacht Mystic is the first completion at the CMB Yachts yard and she is the largest composite yacht built in Turkey to-date. Yacht Mystic features an interior styled by Birgit Schnaase with accommodation for 10 guests in a master suite, two double and two twin cabins.

Schnaase Interior Design aimed to create an interior that was as new and fresh as the newborn shipyard the vessel was being built at. The result is a concept that leans towards oriental tastes more than to Northern European.  The overall style of motor yacht Mystic is “a new interpretation of Art Nouveau.” describes Schnaase.

Superyacht Mystic - Schnaase Interior Design

Superyacht Mystic - Schnaase Interior Design

The interior of the superyacht Mystic is a powerful mix of strong materials. Macassar ebony provides contrasting dark trims and skirting boards. Glass chandeliers, mother of pearl detailing and crystal accessories, exude decadence and provide a contrast to the more contemporary materials, such as the shimmering Majilite panels covering the walls.

Superyacht Mystic - Schnaase Interior Design

Superyacht Mystic - Schnaase Interior Design

Schnaase Interior Design have kept the colour palette of M/Y Mystic fairly neutral with beiges, browns and creams, finished with details such as large gold handles, classic Art Nouveau fabric patterns and warm golden Onyx on the floors, mixed with leather and silk.

Superyacht Mystic - Schnaase Interior Design

The layout of this yacht is fairly unique with her master suite being situated on the upper deck in the area normally used for the sky lounge. And the usual place for the master suite on a superyacht is on the main deck is replaced by a large gymnasium and a cinema.

The CMB Mystic yacht is powered by twin 1450hp MTU engines and she will reach a top speed of 17 knots with a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. The superyacht is RINA classed and MCA compliant.

Sailing yacht Meteor 100 (YD69) under construction

July 01, 2010

Yachting Developments currently have a 100ft composite performance cruising sloop under construction at its yard in Auckland. From the design board of naval architects Dixon Yacht Design the vessel is referred to as build number YD69, or by its project name “Meteor 100”

Dixon Yacht Design Sailing aycht Meteor 100 (YD69)

Built to comply with stringent Germanischer Lloyd and MCA classification requirements, the superyacht Meteor 100 is incredibly strong yet 25%-30% lighter than similar vessels built in Aluminum, this is achievable by the use of composites. The composite structure is post cure epoxy Eglass/Carbon/Kevlar incorporating high strength foam sandwich technology. From the design board of naval architects Dixon Yacht Design, Sailing yacht Meteor 100’s hull has a Kevlar outer skin for outstanding impact resistance.

The cruising sloop Meteor 100 (YD69) has a blond teak interior designed by Rhodes Young and being built in-house by Yachting Developments specialist tradesman. Build number YD69’s interior features wide walnut planked floors, and comfortable sofas. The owner’s stateroom is full beam with private access to the cockpit.

Superyacht Project Monarch Renderings

June 23, 2010

On the 18th of June, CharterWorld brought you news regarding Project Monarch Yacht that is to be completed by Delta Marine and Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (Cat Financial). We have now received four renderings done by Jonathan Quinn Barnett of the exterior styling and interior design of Project Monarch which just arrived at Delta’s yard in Seattle for completion.

With exterior styling and interior design by Jonathan Quinn Barnett, the 151-foot semi displacement super yacht Monarch has an impressive 30’ 9” beam, and features a balance of elegance and strength, form and function, performance, range and comfort. Motor yacht Monarch has a flared hull design with a hard chine to deflect spray and a high sheer line that captures a full beam arrangement forward of amidships. Her bulbous bow increases efficiency. Powered by twin Cat 3512 B series engines, M/Y MONARCH can reach speeds of up to 21 knots, with a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. The yacht is ABS and MCA certified, under 500 gross tons and wheelchair navigable, with extra wide doors, spacious walkways and a centrally located elevator providing convenient access to all four decks.

Superyacht MONARCH Exterior

Project MONARCH Main salon

“The interior for this yacht will be a great departure from any of my previous work. We have developed a modern approach to the detailing using traditional satin paint finishes, almost with the appearance of being ‘hand brushed.’ Large windows allow natural light in and enhance the soft monochromatic coloring and textures,” says Barnett.

Motor yacht MONARCH Stairway

The mood changes as you enter the dining salon, where a soft, warm and intimate gathering space has been created. Finally, the design takes advantage again of reflective light with a gorgeous parchment paneled and mirrored stainless steel central staircase and elevator.

In the skylounge of the Motor Yacht MONARCH, the design is inspired by the great classic sailing and motor yachts from the turn of the century, with a modern spin. Elegant contemporary styling and soft worsted wool fabrics and leathers provide great comfort and warmth to compliment the generous use of wood solids and veneers. Marble accents play a key roll around the bar area with a decidedly “Gentlemen’s Club” feel. Sweeping views, large windows, a full bar and walk-in wine room makes this space perfect for cruising, entertaining or relaxing in the harbor. Just forward, the Portuguese bridge has wraparound glass panes with an expansive viewing range and a raised banquette that seats five – another great spot for admiring the passing scenery.

All can enjoy five-star comfort in the Monarch yacht’s well-appointed guest suites. Forward on the main deck, the full-beam master is fitted with office, vanity, cedar-lined walk-in wardrobes and a double bath with whirlpool tub. Two king-berths and one queen and one-twin berth staterooms surround a central lower-deck foyer embellished with rich paneling and a fine inlaid stone floor.

Deltas Project MONARCH Top deck

Delta Marine’s Project Monarch’s outdoor deck areas are a harmonious mix of sheltered and open venues, expansive settings and secluded corners, suitable for socializing of all kinds. Aft of the skylounge is a spacious area with seating for eight under the shade, complete with wet bar for cocktail parties under the stars.

Teak stairs lead to the sundeck with circular bar and an adjacent hot tub – a luxurious spot to take in the view. Guests can lie on the sun pads or sit on comfortable upholstered stools poolside and still look forward when underway.

Keech Green’s first superyacht interior for 47m Superyacht BLIND DATE

June 17, 2010

The 47m Heesen Superyacht BLIND DATE was Keech Green’s first superyacht interior in a modern deco style. And indeed, motor yacht Blind Date was one of the 2010 World Superyacht Award winners (best displacement motor yacht below 500GT) and the judges were impressed with the attractive, well laid out ‘modern deco’ interior offering a neutral pallet of colours.

The Interior Stairwell of Yacht Blind Date

Keech Green’s first super yacht commission involved working closely with the appointed boatyard to translate detailed drawings into actuality. Comfort and grandeur combine in a style that firmly avoids the ‘fitted’ interiors common to most super yachts. Central to the design is the spiral staircase, clad in an innovative bronze liquid metal finish.

yacht blind date

Dense reeds adorn the walls at the lower level, imperceptibly tapering away as one ascends.  Fibre optic lights sparkle from a frieze embellished with sea creatures.

Marble, onyx, silk and cashmere create a sumptuous interior. Although the furniture is secured and to a large extent built in, it is designed tappear free standing. Keech Green Bespoke provided numerous pieces, including the stunning alabaster lights and chandelier.

Yacht Orca (now called yacht Palladuim) a 96m Blohm & Voss superyacht

June 15, 2010

Klaus sent in some very interesting new superyacht images of the Blohm & Voss 96 metre (314.96ft) Orca (now called yacht Palladuim) superyacht in Germany.  The ORCA yacht not only has an inspired name (named after the king of the sea the killer whale) but she has inspired yacht design by Michael Leach Design, in the Orca theme, with black and white markings and curved organic forms. A modern, powerful, innovative and futuristic superyacht, Palladuim is set to create quite a stir in luxury yachting circles and inspire media interest worldwide.

One of the most important private luxury yachts now launched the 2010, motor yacht Palladuim is another testament to the yacht building abilities of the German builder Blohm & Voss Yachts. M/Y Orca is certainly a custom yacht in every respect with her unique and original design and innovation. In this new build project Blohm & Voss were able to make even the most complex and interesting design mandate come to life in this beautiful superyacht.

There are many adjectives that come to mind when looking at the early photos of yacht Palladuim– carnal, organic, curvaceous, sensual, powerful, evolutionary, majestic, and unique come to mind – but all in all she looks like something that is from and of the ocean. Surely this should be the highest accolade for superyacht builders and designers alike.

Luxury yacht Palladuim’s almost sensual superstructure is very easy on the eye, but also it looks immediately different in setting itself apart from the other superyachts built to date. True, the styling reflects the mighty orca whale – and what a form in nature to mirror – but there are further structural as well as design differences because it is created from an advanced building system comprising a blend of steel, alloy and composites, as completed with innovative strengthened dark glazing.

The use of composites and glass in superyachts is in its infancy but many designers have taken up new materials and technologies and perhaps such techniques are a thing of the future now that Orca has lead the way.

Full details are yet to surface and there are no images of the Michael Leach interior as yet public. Yacht Orca is believed to feature interiors created by Silverlining and Metrica and has 8 guest cabins (some of them being full suites) thus accommodating 16 guests, a 16 m (52.49ft) beam.

From Michael Leach Design & SilverLinning:

“In this boat that will be delivered in 2010, the exterior form is reflected and sustained throughout the internal spaces. Michael Leach Design showed their fascination with organic design, taking inspiration from nature to create a fluid form and a strong, complex and dynamic structural design. Silverlining is working on 68 pieces of furniture, including 5m long bars and a 6m long dining table, which appears to be growing out of the floor. Achieving this effect posed special challenges for Silverlining: it had to build the large tabletop and support structure as single pieces. In addition it had to ensure perfect installation to the deck. The size of the table called for a lightweight and strong structure, and so Silverlining brought in composite material consultants from the Formula 1 industry to work with its in-house structural and audio-visual engineers to develop a solution.”

Powered by twin MTU 595 TE 70l Diesel engines, superyacht Orca can reach around 19 knots at top speed and can make 6000nm at her cruising speed of 14 knots. Yacht Palladuim will also accommodate two Cougar Marine custom yacht tenders on her sports garage space.
