Scheduled for opening this November, the works on refurbishment of the building that will soon become the new headquarters for Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. (P.A.E.) are well underway, starting about six weeks ago on the previous Beach House restaurant.

Once completed, the new space will put administration, design, engineering, and the southwest sales office under one roof in beautiful Dana Point Harbor, where the company has existed since forming 34 years ago.

Over time, P.A.E. has experienced dramatic growth and was forced to divide its southern California staff amongst a few different locations. “It’s been a long-time goal to house the entire team back under one roof,” said P.A.E. president and founder Dan Streech.

The move will allow the company to operate more economically as well as dramatically improve customer service through enhanced communications and a more efficient structure. The building will be reconfigured to include new offices for staff, owner/guest office suites, a conference and showroom and a gallery dedicated to the history of P.A.E. and the Dana Point waterfront. “We are eager to move forward knowing that we have room to expand as business improves in these coming months and years,” said Streech.

Dave Harlow, who currently serves as project manager of a few different models and has been a salesman for Nordhavn in the past, now wears another hat: that of P.A.E.’s contractor liaison for the headquarters project. Dave has noted that construction is going smoothly and that P.A.E. has opted to retain a number of key features from the old structure, including the fireplace which will be refaced, as well as part of the restaurant’s old bar where “a number of meetings were held – both during and after hours.”

Production of all Nordhavn yachts will continue to take place at P.A.E.’s two partner factories, Ta Shing Yacht Building Co. in Taiwan and South Coast Marine in China.

In addition to the Dana Point administration and sales offices, P.A.E. also operates sales offices in Portsmouth, Rhode Island; Stuart, Florida; Seattle, Washington; Hamble Point, England, and Brisbane, Australia.  P.A.E. was founded in 1978 by Streech and business partner Jim Leishman who, along with Jim’s brother Jeff Leishman, continue to own and operate the company.
