Final preparations for the World Superyacht Awards 2014 are currently in full swing. The winners of these prominent awards will be unveiled during a gala evening at Amsterdam’s majestic National Maritime Museum on Saturday, May 3, 2014. A wealth of world renowned shipyards in the region and a rich maritime history makes Amsterdam a truly fitting location to celebrate excellence in superyacht build as well as design.

Their 64m three-mast sailing yacht Mikhail S. Vorontsov is currently the world biggest sailing superyacht ever built with a hull made of laminated wood. Other innovative projects include the 141m four-mast mega yacht Dream Symphony, currently under construction by the DSV team.

ESENYACHT

Esenyacht is a contemporary superyacht yard based in Bodrum, Turkey. Founded in 2011, the yard builds luxury, handcrafted superyachts, combining modern production technology using advanced materials with traditional craftsmanship working in natural stone, wood and hides. A high percentage of the components on each yacht are produced within the yard, ensuring that each vessel is truly bespoke and personalised to its owner’s exact tastes.

Work is currently underway on the 50m steel / composite performance cruising sloop Troy, scheduled for completion in late 2014. The yard also offers a full range of refit and repair facilities for yachts up to 3000 tonnes. Esenyacht will host guests of the World Superyacht Awards for a celebratory brunch at Hotel Sofitel Legend, The Grand Amsterdam on Sunday morning following the Award Ceremony.

As part of the World Superyacht Awards programme, Gassan Diamonds are delighted to host guests for “Special Brilliant Tours” at their historical diamond factory. An explanation of the history of diamond cutting and Gassan Diamonds will be given, and visitors will learn from expert craftsmen how a rough diamond is cut and polished into a dazzling brilliant.

Yacht owners and the industry’s leading professionals from around the globe will attend the gala evening in Amsterdam on 3 May, where the winners of the coveted silver Neptune trophies will be revealed. In addition to the high anticipated prize giving, there are a number of supplementary events for World Superyacht Awards guests taking place in the region on the days surrounding the gala evening.

The full programme of events includes a Welcome Cocktail at Westerkerk, the city’s imposing Dutch Renaissance church, exclusive access to the Event Partner’s Shipyards, tours of Gassan Diamonds and Spyker Supercars and a post ceremony brunch hosted by Esenyacht.
