Set to make a world premiere at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, the new Pascoe International SL range is expected to exceed all expectations of the most discerning yacht owners, thanks to its elegant as well as sophisticated styling. The open version of the range, the SL Landau yacht tender, will be showcased at stand TS7. The first of the closed SL Limousine superyacht tenders is under construction and scheduled for delivery in early 2014.

Pascoe International has established an enviable reputation for supplying very high quality, beautifully engineered tenders. During the past couple of years, the company’s technical office have been working very closely with Patrick Banfield and Ken Freivokh Design to establish the essential parameters which would result in an optimum, practical and elegant limousine tender package. Both Pascoe International and Ken Freivokh Design are 100% committed to the success of the Pascoe SL range.

Whilst there are a number of one-off built tenders which have met the performance and appearance brief to a larger or lesser extent, Pascoe set to develop the ideal “platform” for such a tender – very much in line with automotive practice. Performance was tested against sea keeping qualities and range whilst tender garages from the top Superyacht builders were compared to arrive at the maximum practical proportions for the new range of 9.6 to 10.6m limousines. Engines were assessed not only in terms of performance, weight and size, but also in terms of worldwide service and warranties. In all cases, weight optimisation was deemed essential, which determined the indispensable use of carbon and epoxy construction.

The whole project was developed using the latest 3D technology, and the moulds and components have all been machined precisely using CNC techniques. Each SL is customised so that the client has the benefit of a solution with their own individual style and detail, while being secure in the knowledge that their limousine tender uses proven engineering and hull form.

Most limousine tenders aim to colonise only the central areas for guest seating, with the bow sections allocated to the crew and helmsman, and the aft sections just covering the engines. The platform ultimately developed for the Pascoe SL range retains a handsome guest area and also offers a very useful and comfortable horseshoe seating forward, protected by a totally concealed pram hood canopy.

Pascoe International will also be exhibiting the recently launched 7.0m SOLAS Rescue Tender. Already receiving substantial interest, the 7.0m SOLAS joins the 6.2m and 5.5m SOLAS Rescue Tenders which can be found on many of the world’s most prestigious yachts ranging from 52m to 125m.

When designing the 7.0m SOLAS, Pascoe listened to comments from the captains and crew who operate their 6.2m SOLAS boats on a regular basis. From these comments Pascoe deduced that there is a real need for a fully compliant SOLAS rescue boat with generous deck space, flexible seating and a level of refinement typically only found on custom guest tenders.

The key focus was that the 7.0m SOLAS had to fulfil the need for a tender that is as perfectly suited to guest and client facing operations as it is to meeting the strict requirements of the SOLAS code.

The 7.0m SOLAS suits owners who want to be able to fully utilise their rescue tender for guest transportation, water sports and crew duties. The mid-engine configuration of the 7.0m SOLAS offers a flexible seating layout, improved noise reduction due to the drive shaft and exhaust arrangement.

Impressive acceleration onto the plane is due to the centralised weight distribution which also results in easier loading and unloading of the tender by crane.

Pascoe SOLAS Tenders are unique in offering full compliance whilst maintaining both style and practicality for everyday guest use. They can be supplied to exactly match the aesthetics and finish of the other Pascoe tenders aboard, and indeed will perform the same functions to perfection.
