Benetti has announced the launch of the latest mega yacht, second of three giga yachts to launch this year (first being FB277 launched earlier in the year), built under the project name FB272. Featuring a steel hull with aluminium superstructure, FB272 was constructed to comply with the PYC (Passenger Yacht Code) and with great input from her proud Owner when it comes to her design, layout and construction.
Measuring around 100 metres (328’) with a beam of approximately 17 metres (55’77’’) this head-turning giga yacht has a displacement of above 5,500 GT and was fitted with a pioneering hybrid propulsion system with diesel-electric engines and two Azipods propulsion units connected to a special battery pack conceived and supplied by the owner for vibration-free navigation in complete silence.
The exterior design of the yacht was done in collaboration with Hugo van Wieringen from Azure Naval Architects (initial stage) and then with the assistance of Reymond Langton Design and Zaniz Jakubowski of Zaniz Interiors. The exterior design was refined after the contract with the assistance of Benetti’s in-house designer, Giorgio Cassetta, supporting Zaniz Interiors who were in charge of both the exterior and interior design.
FB272 spreads six amazing decks and thanks to her straight bow, she has exceptional seakeeping capabilities, while huge deck areas offer plenty of areas for guests to relax and entertain.
