What is a luxury yacht? Luxury Yachts as a term generally mean private boats of more than 22m or 80 feet in length, built with the aim of providing their owners and guests with ultimate luxury and comfort during their entire stay on board. Sailing yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, trimarans, gullets, superyachts, mega yachts, giga yachts, classic yachts or modern yachts with state-of-the-art amenities, technology and design all fall under the category of ‘luxury yachts’. There are numerous luxury yacht builders, designers, naval architects, interior designers, lighting designers, various product suppliers and service supplies in the industry specialising in luxury yachts, offering the highest possible standard of their services and assistance to future owners and managers of these vessels. Some owners prefer to keep their privacy and use their yachts for private holidays with family, friends, business partners and colleagues. Others, offer their vessels for luxury yacht charter around various destinations in the world. Two of the most important destinations from yacht rental point of view are the Mediterranean (mainly in the summer) and the Caribbean (during the Northern Hemisphere’s winter months). Other important luxury yacht charter destinations include the South Pacific, Asia, Northern Europe, with remote destinations such as Antarctica and Pacific North West being increasingly sought-after by adventure-seeking yacht charter clients.

Luxury yachts offer deluxe and luxurious accommodation in cabins, with en suite bathrooms, the finest in furnishing and linens, latest in technology, air-conditioning and various other comforts expected of these boats. There is usually one or more saloons available for entertainment, socialising and relaxation, as well as numerous dining options, including al fresco dining possibilities. Exterior deck areas tend to offer plenty of space for sunbathing, with larger yachts fitted with the very popular Jacuzzi spa or even a large swimming pool. All luxury yachts have a selection of various water toys at guests’ disposal for in-water entertainment and fun.
