The Pacific Northwest is an ocean explorer's paradise with its calm, protected waters that feature many parks, islands and inlets along a winding coastline. The abundant sea life living in the tiny bays and coves makes the area ideal those interested in nature and serenity. There are several crewed charter boats that are based in the various areas of the Northwest as well as luxury superyachts that pass through this incredible location and offer yacht charters when they do.
From the buzzing marina hives of the San Juans, the most popular yacht charter area in the Western United States, to the humble marinas of the Sunshine Coast, charter boats are well catered for. You can find shopping, dining, art and history on the San Juans or serene tranquility in Desolation Sound. From the famous Desolation Sound and the humble Sunshine Coast and Jervis Inlet, to the San Juan Islands in the south and the Gulf Islands in the north, this sailing area has a plenty to offer any yacht charter vacation.
Desolation Sounds is the confluence of Malaspina Inlet & Homfray Channel. Here there are more than 60 km of shoreline, many islands and off course there are plentiful small bays & snug little coves to stay in. This part North America offers beautiful scenery, trails & wilderness walks on land and it is a great location for power boating as well as sailing.

The peak cruising season for the Pacific Northwest is from June through to September. The yacht charter shoulder seasons of May and early October are also well worth considering, as they are less crowded and the weather is usually still fairly settled.
