What You Can see on a Toulon Luxury Yacht Charter

Step back in time and tour the quaint city of Toulon, rich with culture and a destination for private luxury yacht guests looking to experience the French Riviera at the less frenetic Provence pace. Among the city's religious sites is the stately Cathedrale Notre-Dame-De-La-Seds de Toulon, which if visited on a Sunday will give you the full authentic atmosphere as churchgoers sing along in chorus to the grand church organ. Another finely decorated venue is the Opera de Toulon which is centrally located for an evening of delight, performing the greatest operas of all time.

In 2009 Toulon was France's 15th largest city, yet despite being quite far down the list it has some impressive and varied attractions: Among the numerous museums is Musée des arts asiatiques from the French colonisation of southeast Asia, Musée d'art and Hôtel des arts, the latter being dedicated to contemporary artists and exhibiting five times a year.

Those interested in seafaring will enjoy the exhibits at Musee National de la Marine, which informs visitors on the city's historic influence on the waves. Displays are written in French, English and Spanish, and at the time of writing free audio guides are also available in several languages.

Away from the shops, top-class restaurants and galleries, guests can ride in glass-bottomed cable cars up to Telepherique du Mont Faron for the panoramic views and walks to local landmarks.
