Vaudrey Miller Tenders of New Zealand has continued its spectacular style of superyacht tenders with its latest launching – a 10-metre, 52mph-capable RIB that combines high fashion styling from Philippe Starck with the racing boat technology of Ocke Mannerfelt.

The result is a dramatic, bright orange swirl of cockpit set into the sleek, metallic silver lines of a high-speed RIB tender for superyacht A. Couples can easily step onboard this on-the-water sports car built for two and indulge in watersports, sightseeing and fast cruising.

Even in choppy water at speed, the RIB’s inflatable tubes and vee hull give a smooth, safe ride. The occupants enjoy the comfort of motion-absorbing race-style seats, upholstered in the cockpit’s orange leather with Parisian stitching detail. Discreet lights set the cockpit a-glow at night.

Mannerfelt’s hulls are well proven in their speed and handling. Vaudrey Miller Tenders built this tender, VMT 014, on female, CNC moulds in E-glass, carbon fibre sandwich using resin infusion. The result is a light, stiff hull, ensuring superb performance and longevity. The twin Yanmar 6LPA 315hp sterndrives are fitted with underwater exhausts and extensive acoustic insulation to minimise engine sound in the cockpit. The fuel tank is beneath the console.

The all-over silver paint – achieved in a well-guarded technique by Vaudrey Miller Tenders – covers tapered inflatable tubes to match the foredeck and hull. A stunning detail is the gleaming stainless steel anchor, created by Vaudrey Miller Tenders, which fits perfectly flush in the upper strakes of the bow. The anchor winch is accessed through the round hatch in the foredeck.

Sections either side of the cockpit fold out to become teak steps into the boat. The cockpit features a fridge, Fusion sound system and BEP C-Zone to simplify the control of all electrical functions in one screen. A dash membrane ensures all switches are well-protected. The padded sunbed in the rear cockpit opens up to access the engines. There is a fresh-water shower on the swim platform.

The interior space, accessed through a pantograph door, features two settees plus a double berth and a toilet. Vaudrey Miller Tenders delivered this stunning statement of naval architecture and art to the Caribbean in time for the owner’s summer cruise. Vaudrey Miller Tenders will exhibit on The New Zealand Street at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show.
