STP Shipyard Palma and ACREW Superyacht Crew Community have teamed up to offer, for the first time in the STP refit facilities, professional development courses for superyacht crew. The first edition of these courses will be held in the STP facilities in the fantastic Spain yacht charter destination – Palma de Mallorca on 8th and 9th May, 2014.
Mallorca, known for being one of the most important superyacht destinations in the Mediterranean, welcomes a large number of superyacht captains and crew who choose to spend weeks and even months on the island to carry out their refits.
A key objective for STP is to ensure that captains and crew have an enjoyable stay in Mallorca and add value to their time spent conducting their refit. For this reason STP has partnered with ACREW, a company known by crew for its quality and innovative events, to create these professional development sessions for captains and crew under the name STP&ACREW SUPERYACHT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
Over the two days of the event, STP & ACREW have organised a series of workshops, discussions, fire drills and other activities, all of which are free for registered crew as a support to their professional lives. There will be courses for whole crew attendance as well as sessions specifically designed for captains, engineers, interior and deck.
A special emphasis has been placed on sailing with the addition of the Ropes and Rigging workshop in recognition that Palma de Mallorca is a superyacht sail yacht hub.
The professional development sessions will be combined with quality networking lunches and a captains’ dinner. At the end of the second day of workshops all delegates, along with all STP clients and superyacht crew in Mallorca are invited to STP & ACREW barbecue. The dockside barbecue will become a dockside party when the popular international DJ Dani L Mebius takes to the stage at 9pm. Dani L Mebius is the resident DJ from Zoom Yachting and will be headlining at several worldwide crew events in 2014.
