Developed by the prestigious New Zealand-based luxury yacht builder Yachting Developments, the complex organic three dimensional sail will undoubtedly be a talking point of Auckland‘s Waterfront for years to come. Made of high strength Eglass as well as carbon fibre, utilising modern boatbuilding techniques, the reflector is currently securely bolted onboard the top of the new ASB building, the latest “Green” high rise office complex that can be found in Auckland’s revitalised superyacht marina, the beautiful Wynyard Quarter.

The reflector measures a staggering 12m (40ft) in width, 12m (40ft) in length, 6m (20ft) in height and weighs approximately 5,000kg and was manufactured by Yachting Developments to a Superyacht standard high gloss finish. Once completed the reflector was then transported by water from the company’s Hobsonville boat yard to site on Auckland’s Waterfront.

The reflector is one of several large architectural components custom made by Yachting Developments for this particular project.

Other components include:
• A large multi story internal “Green” composite fire rated ventilation funnel, designed as a highly visible overhead feature within the buildings atrium
• Large custom made composite high gloss Board Room Tables
• Two custom made composite high gloss organic shaped meeting room/conversation pods
