Overmarine Group, the Italian Maxi Open Yacht Builder, celebrated their premiere at the 2011 Cannes Boat Show held last week. Last year, they have decided to change their market approach and after being represented by an exclusive dealer for many years, Overmarine Group have chosen to market their ‘jewels’ – Mangusta Yachts – directly.

Mangusta brand has always stood for excellence in luxury and peak performances, setting new standards in the marine industry, becoming widely recognized as the benchmark in design and manufacturing of fast Maxi-Open Yachts combining speed and technology.

Founded in 1985 by the Balducci Family, the group remained a family owned business, to this day. Operating from Viareggio in Italy and specialising in semi-custom built yachts, Overmarine offers a range of 7 Maxi-Open motor yachts from 72’ to 165’. Additionally, their range also includes a full-displacement motor yacht of 148’ – Mangusta 148’ Oceano tri-deck as well as a current project for a new Open Mega Yacht – Mangusta 205’. Mangusta 165 superyacht is the largest built Maxi-Open yacht in the world, to date.

Although for many years Overmarine Group has essentially been a boat builder committed to the development of the best quality available in the market, its future is now to get an active role in the direct promotion on the market of its range through a selected number of offices and partners in strategic areas.

Although Overmarine Group were best known as a yacht building company, committed to delivering the best quality yachts available on the market; their future now includes an active role in direct promotion of the Overmarine range, through selected number of offices and partners located in strategic areas.

New strategic steps have been undertaken by the group:

•          A new communication strategy with a brand new advertising campaign, new communication tools including a new website have been created

•          Thanks to Overmarine’s established financial and economical stability as well as reliability, a new commercial strategy has been developed with a selection of four strategic partners :

1.         Marine Max for United States

2.         La Mar Aqua for Turkey

3.         Burevestnik for Russia

4.         Infinite Yachts for France

Even though the current market situation, Overmarine Group, in nautical year 2010/2011, has delivered 7 yachts including the motor yacht Mangusta 165 as well as the  Mangusta 130 superyacht.

•          An integral part of Overmarine Group’s new strategy is that they are also developing the industrial side of the business with a special focus on new premises in Pisa that will shortly allow them to enter a new market segment: i.e. the custom built yachts in steel and/or aluminium. The new plants built in the new boating territory in Pisa cover an area of 20,000 sq. meters of  which 9,000 are covered, with a height of 20 meters, that will enable to built yachts over 60 m.  The shipyard will open at the beginning of next year.  In the meantime the 205’ yacht project will be finalised in order to start production once the premises are available.

•          At the same time the Mangusta range has been revisited. Although maintaining the typical Mangusta timeless design, new technical and aesthetic improvements have been introduced. The first new yachts will be ready to be launched at the next boat show: Mangusta 72 at the Genoa Boat Show and Mangusta 92 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. In regard to bigger boats Overmarine Group announces today the new Mangusta 110. The Mangusta 110 is a brand new yacht. She will not replace the Mangusta 108 that remains in the Mangusta range. Mangusta 108 is an Icon of Mangusta with her timeless classic design that has conquered numerous customers and still does.
