The next year’s London Boat Show will provide its visitors with a unique opportunity to discover life on board a bluewater cruiser. As the winter weather sweeps across Europe, plenty of passionate sailors desire to cruise the warm waters of the Caribbean, or island-hopping across the Pacific. At the 2013 Tullet Prebon London Boat Show, the World Cruising Club, organisers of ocean sailing events all over the world, will be demonstrating what it takes to make this dream come true through interactive displays as well as informative ‘meet the experts’ forums focused around ocean sailing and bluewater cruising.

This will be a great opportunity for cruisers contemplating ocean voyages to learn the practicalities of offshore sailing and begin to prepare for the adventure of a lifetime.

Created in partnership with National Boat Shows, a dedicated World Cruising feature stand will give show visitors the chance to climb aboard two yachts that have previously sailed in the ARC and discover the practicalities of long-distance sailing. Former ARC skippers will be on hand to offer advice on boat preparations and explain what it is really like to be an ocean cruiser. Alongside these ocean-proven boats will be displays of essential equipment, top-tips for boat-owners and images showing what life is like for offshore sailors.

Supporting the World Cruising feature, the popular Bluewater Cruisers’ Question Time forum returns to the London Boat Show. Taking place on Saturday 12th and Saturday 19th January at 14:00, these FREE interactive panel discussions will provide a focused one-hour introduction to life at sea and will answer key questions for those preparing for bluewater cruising. The panel of experienced cruisers and industry experts will share their knowledge on topics including great boat gear, cruising essentials, sailing with family, and choosing a boat.

Forum Sessions are free but spaces are strictly limited so those wishing to attend are advised to book in advance via the World Cruising Club website.
