World Cruising Club to attend the upcoming Tullett Prebon London Boat Show

Set to take place from January 12 to 20, the 2013 Tullett Prebon London Boat Show will feature an extensive programme of events hosted by the World Cruising Club. It will provide visitors with a unique insight into the world of offshore cruising.

Limited spaces remain on the popular Bluewater Cruising Question Time sessions, taking place on Saturday 12th and 19th January at 14:00. These free sessions are ideal for anyone planning an Atlantic crossing to get top tips from an experienced panel of industry experts and seasoned cruisers.

New for 2013, the World Cruising feature stand invites visitors to climb aboard two yachts that have completed the ARC and meet their skippers to discover the practicalities of ocean sailing.

On each day of the Show, speakers such as Rod Heikel and Liza Copeland will give a series of short informative presentations on the World Cruising feature stand covering a range of topics on how to prepare for offshore cruising.

Bluewater Cruisers Question Time
Preparing for the adventure of a lifetime cruising the world’s oceans can be a daunting prospect for some, but the World Cruising Club have assembled a host of the sailing industry’s leading experts at this year’s Tullet Prebon London Boat Show to provide a comprehensive introduction to offshore cruising. Offering top tips through interactive panel discussions and daily presentations on the new World Cruising feature stand, the extensive programme of events gives visitors thinking about embarking on an ocean voyage an unparalleled opportunity to learn the practicalities of offshore sailing and begin to prepare for life at sea.

Spaces are still available to join the popular Bluewater Cruising Question Time sessions, taking place on Saturday 12th and 19th January at 14:00. These FREE sessions are ideal for anyone planning an Atlantic crossing and will be particularly beneficial to anyone planning to join the ARC or World ARC. Featuring top tips from an experienced panel of industry experts and seasoned cruisers, they will provide a focused one-hour introduction to life at sea and will answer key questions for those preparing for bluewater cruising. Topics covered will include great boat gear, cruising essentials, sailing with family, and choosing a boat. Question Time Sessions are free but spaces are strictly limited so those wishing to attend are advised to book in advance via the World Cruising Club website.

Climb aboard an ARC yacht
One of the key highlights of this year’s show will be the new World Cruising feature stand. Run in partnership with National Boat Shows, the attraction offers visitors the chance to climb aboard two yachts that have previously sailed in the ARC and learn how to change a boat from a weekend yacht into an offshore cruiser. Seasoned ARC skippers and crews will also be on hand to meet visitors and talk them through the practicalities of preparing themselves and their boat for the voyage.
