Three events by International Crew Training at FLIBS 2012

The world leader in offering yacht training services from STCW 95 Basic Safety Training through to the coveted MCA Master 3000 ton (yachts), certificate of competency, International Crew Training (ICT), is announcing three events that will take place at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: The Perfect Setting Tabletop Challenge 2012, PYA/Guests Event and the Berth Control Event.

1. The Perfect Setting Tabletop Challenge 2012

Friday 26th October
FLIBS -Bahia Mar, Hall Of Fame and Las Olas Docks
Judging starts at 10am, cocktail party and prizegiving is at 6.30pm on the IYC dock.

ICT are running the Perfect Setting Tabletop Challenge at FLIBS this year. The web page and entry forms for the Tabletop challenge are up and running. 18 yachts can enter and ICT already have 6 spaces filled.

There are two categories. Contestants and enter just one or both, If they enter both they are eligible to wine the grand  Best in Show prize. The two categories are as follows: Formal – James Bond and informal – Seasons.

ICT have upwards of $12,000 in fabulous prizes from some really generous sponsors including a night’s stay at the W hotel in a suite from Liquid Yachtwear, $1000 flight voucher from GMT, the use of a party bus for a crew of up to 16 and  2 tickets to ride a flyboard from Yacht Chandlers, copies of the Wright List from WMG, vouchers from Dessange, Orange Theory, Eiquette boutiqe, Grateful Palate many, many more. The beautiful trophy is from Robbe abd Berking.

2. PYA/GUEST Event

Monday 29th October
Bimini Boatyard and Grill

Mike French, PYA Regional Officer and ICT are hosting a PYA event sponsored by Salamanca Marine and the King’s Institute to promote the new GUEST initiative.

If you work in the interior department of a yacht, manage a yacht or are involved with owners and guests of yachts or charters in anyway at all, you need to be here.

It is an opportunity to find out exactly what is going on with the GUEST initiative from the very people who are managing the program globally. The GUEST initiative is the first time that the Yachting Industry  has used it’s collective knowledge and experience to design industry standards.

The GUEST program, for the first time, provides a definitive career path for interior crew. It also provides recognition and acceptance for those who qualify in terms of experience and sea time.

The lucky winner of a napkin folding competition held at the event will receive an ICT Barista course as a prize.

3. Berth Control Event

Friday 2nd November
Embassy Suites

5.30pm – Boat Handling Seminar
6.30pm – Competition begins

Signature cocktails and food served

Great prizes: Use of the Yacht Chandlers party bus for a night for the winner and 20 of his/her closest friends, Ipod Nanos, Itunes cards etc.

Visitors are invited to come and take the controls of the ICT’s mini megayacht! They can manouvre the obstacle course, race against the clock and network with fellow yacht crew. Lady Amelia is a remote controlled, eight foot long mini megayacht that handles like a real yacht.
