The year starts with important news at CMC Marine: in the frame of the next Seatec 2011 show, in February 2011, CMC will present four new thruster models belonging to the Dualis series, all of them with counter rotating propeller, and for boats from 18 m to 30 m.

Dualis BTM 20, Dualis BTM 30, Dualis BTM 40 and Dualis BTM 50: these are the four new thruster models CMC Marine have included in its range and are replacing the 2009 series with similar size. The new models are designed to offer the maximum flexibility: for instance, thanks to the special pod mounting block, each thruster can be coupled to both an hydraulic motor as well as an electric one. In comparison to the previous models, the new series has a wide range of units with different power – the lower power is now 18 kW (it was 22 kW) and the higher is now 45 kW (it was 37 kW). The new series is perfectly integrated in the existing thruster range dedicated to yachts bigger than 30 metres and that reaches up to 130 kW power. With regards the thruster tunnels, they have been sized to obtain the maximum flexibility: the diameter of them now ranges from 300 to 450 mm. The pod profile have been designed in order to minimize the hydrodynamic resistance and reducing the external surface while the typical technical solutions that have always made the Dualis thrusters silent, efficient and reliable have been maintained: so that, also the new series will adopt the tapered roller bearings, triple seals on the propeller shaft, helicoidally gears, nichel chromo treated bushings to offer the perfect water tight.

Thanks to all these characteristics and to the use of the counter-rotating propellers, almost a trademark for the CMC thrusters, the new models offer a thrust of 30% more than the standard models available today on the market with similar power.

In details, the main characteristics of the new thrusters:

Model Transmission Power [Kw] Internal diameter tunnel [mm] Thrust [Kgf]
DUALIS BTM 20 Electrical or hydraulic 18 (available also with 22) 300 300 (360 if with 22 kW)
DUALIS BTM 30 Electrical or hydraulic 30 355 510
DUALIS BTM 40 Electrical or hydraulic 37,5 400 610
DUALIS BTM 50 Electrical or hydraulic 45 450 765

At the next Seatec show CMC Marine will exhibit two thruster models and four different Stabilis models, including two models of Stabilis Electra the first and unique fin stabilizer with electrical actuator.

CMC Marine will be exhibiting at the Seatec  2011 – Pavillon B, booth n. 523.
