Following an announcement from Italian shipyard Benetti on their first explorer yacht, the B.YOND 37M, more details have been released on the series.

Benetti B.YOND 37M – new generation of expedition yachts

The steel-hulled expedition yachts make use of the extensive knowledge and expertise that the shipyard has gained since its establishment for the best layout for guests and crew as well as the utmost comfort, efficiency and flexibility on board: The B.YOND expedition yacht series comes installed with hybrid propulsion that provides four different modes for speed, comfort, zero environmental impact and time spent at anchor.

The exterior appearance merges the lower and main decks to create a commanding and stately hull finished in a charcoal grey that contrasts against the vertical white superstructure. Glass balustrades surround the aft decks while the foredeck has tall gunwales for increased guest privacy. Large windows that have a dark film give plenty of light to the interiors while protecting guest privacy.

The lower deck has a beach club containing a sauna and toy storage. The rest of the lower deck is dedicated to the crew accommodation, mess and services such as laundry and a cold room, leaving the main deck dedicated to guests with the convenience of the accommodation close to the salon and amenities away from the noise and vibrations of the engines.

The main deck aft grants access to the beach club below creates a cosy outdoor area for guests to take in the views. The guest accommodation is placed on this level and provides a forward Master suite and four additional guest cabins to sleep 10. Fold-down terraces can be installed on the two aft cabins and the Master suite for private alfresco dining and relaxation. Also on this deck is the combined gym and tender garage with storage for two jet skis and two tenders (an Owner 6.5m/21ft tender and a crew 4.2m/13.7ft tender), and fold-down terraces for outdoor exercise and sunbathing beside the water.

The upper deck aft, in contrast, is a spacious environment for large group gatherings for alfresco dinner for 12, sheltered by the bridge deck hardtop, while sofas and coffee tables line the port and starboard walls for resting outdoors. The foredeck is easily accessible via the walkways and this section provides a broad sunbed on the bow in addition to two plush lounging areas.

The bridge deck hosts a Jacuzzi and sunbeds along the stern, connecting fully to the winter garden-like skylounge for uninterrupted flow across the deck.

One final outdoor space can be found on the sundeck, a tranquil environment furnished with a sunbed forward, sun loungers along the stern and a wet bar and alfresco dining and lounging setting beneath the central hardtop.

The Siemens Siship Ecoprop hybrid propulsion

The diesel-electric propulsion system by Siemens was developed in Italy and offers four modes:

Enhanced comfort: Ideal for night and coastal cruising when noise and vibrations would otherwise disturb guests.

Eco cruise/hotel mode: For zero emissions while at anchor, whether in port or in a remote environmentally sensitive region

Extended range: For reduced fuel consumption when travelling long distances

Eco transfer: Designed for navigation with only one engine driving both shafts, reducing engine hours and increasing performance

The recently revealed B.YOND 37M explorer yacht is designed with a fuel-efficient hull for long cruises and has storage for 70,000 litres of fuel and 6,000 litres of water for roaming to distant shores using her extensive range above 5,000 nautical miles.
