Last week saw the Ancona-based WIDER Yachts host visitors for a tour of the new shipyard. They had a unique opportunity to see the amazing progress that has been made on super yacht Wider 150′. The impressive bulbous bow of motor yacht Wider 150′ greeted the guests as they entered the shipyard and gazed up at the magnificent curves of the aluminium hull.

Guests were able to walk on the main deck and down into the lower deck areas where compartments are being added. From the aft bulkhead they looked through a hatch and into an area that is designed to house the Wider 150′ yacht’s Power Management System, an essential technical space that will harness the power produced from the generators in the yacht’s bow and transfer it to the Veth Pods that will propel the WIDER 150′ once launched.

Many guests asked about the curious shape that is cut into the aft section of the hull. Tilli Antonelli, President and Founder of WIDER, explained that this was designed to house the Wider 32′ custom yacht tender inside the transom. When the yacht is at anchor the 32’ can be launched and the tender bay fills with water, the sides of the transom fold out, and a beautiful spa/pool area is formed that is surrounded by a WIDER beach.
