Winters are usually quiet on the Manhattan waterfront, but not this year. The 119ft sailing yacht Tara has arrived at Dennis Conner’s North Cove. For the past two and a half years, the Tara superyacht has been sailing around the world on a voyage of exploration.

Her exploration is in the scientific realm. The luxury yacht Tara is outfitted with some of the newest and most advanced equipment. Scientists use the voyage and equipment to study important environmental issues.

The 119´ super yacht Tara has visited over 40 countries before making landfall in the Big Apple. The crew seems very happy to be part of the excitement of New York City!
Tara will stay at North Cove until February 12. Then she heads off to continue her voyage.

Yesterday, the scientists unloaded their valuable water samples into refrigerated trucks. Now the crew has a day of rest before more events including a reception at the French Consulate on Thursday.
