GOLDEN SHADOW

The impressive superyacht GOLDEN SHADOW measures 67 metres (219 ft) and was built at Campbell Shipyard in 1994. She was previously registered as 150. Refitted in 2008, she is a modern research boat and a nicely styled yacht that is able to sleep as many as 16 people on board with a total of 28 crew members. This graceful boat was brought about from the naval architecture of Martin Francis who also produced the interior design.

The yacht was the first support yacht in the industry. She is capable of carrying several tenders as well as an impressive collection of other toys, one of which is a seaplane called the Golden Eye.

GOLDEN SHADOW has vast deck space, she also houses a laboratory for marine research that has played a vital role in multiple oceanographic expeditions. Sturdy and sea going, she offers simple, fresh accommodation and can be used either as a support vessel to the fleet or separately for a research team.

Her 2008 refit includes the following works:

Replacement of carpets throughout vessel
Extensive stabiliser works
Lloyds Register certified crane load testing
Grey Water tank works including valve and vent pipe
Chemical clean of drains throughout vessel, gearbox cooler, and main engine plate cooler
Thermographic photography
Servicing of all tenders

With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, GOLDEN SHADOW has a beam of 11.80m (38,8ft) and a 4.30m draft (14,1ft). She has a range of over 6,500 nautical miles and can reach a maximum speed of 16.5 knots.
